China has reported an outbreak of the deadly H5N1 bird flu in Hunan province which lies on the southern border of Hubei province, the epicenter of the rapidly spreading coronavuirus.

What's going on is...even though China is filled with skyscrapers and high speed internet...their food safety standards are still third world quality...thats whats going on and has been going on for some time. Only now the consequences of it all is NOW out there for all to see.
We should probably gird our loins regarding the economic fallout sure to result because of it.

They’ve already lost much of their pig herds due to a swine flu, right?
They’ll be begging for pork shoulders and chicken thighs before it’s over.
I assume countries will have to put a ban on poultry coming from China.

First the pigs get infected, then the coronavirus, then the chickens get infected. Perhaps the Chinese should start to focus on sanitation before the entire country gets wiped out.
The Wuhan Institute of Virology, linked (not surprisingly) to the PLA, is located in Wuhan. Perhaps accidentally, on purpose release of two pet projects by PLA scientists. (Or maybe just someone forgot to shut the door when they were leaving the building.)
