The Senate voted Friday to not allow witnesses to testify in President Trump’s impeachment trial, paving the way for his likely acquittal next week — but two days of long speeches and a final Senate floor vote still stand in the way of his declaring victory.
Here’s what’s up ahead:
Senators have the coming weekend off — and the four Democrats who are running for president, Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, Amy Klobuchar and Michael Bennet — are expected to make a one-day dash to Iowa for some last-minute campaigning ahead of Monday’s caucuses.
On Monday, the entire Senate will reconvene as a court of impeachment at 11 a.m., with each side given two hours to deliver closing arguments. Attendance is mandatory.
At 3 p.m., the chamber goes back to being the Senate and Chief Justice John Roberts will stop presiding. Senators will then begin delivering individual remarks on the floor about their thoughts on the trial...

I can only imagine what those idiots will say this weekend, campaigning in Iowa. It seems to get more outrageous by the day.
The Senate Republicans need to find a way to present to the American public a clear, understandable statement explaining that the House presented a case with no impeachable charges, that the Constitution does not call for for the Senate to make the case for the House, that the entire impeachment case instituted by the House was a provable political sham. The public needs a clear explanation. Don’t give the floor to Shummer/Pelosi and all their ilk.

There were 18 witnesses. The GOP did a horrible job of getting that info out. They are taking the GWB approach and it’s killing them.
Gosh, bad timing for the senators trapped in an impeachment farce.
That is because most of the Senators are bush-league Republicans.
I am not convinced that the majority of the Republican Senators even want to win this battle. I think they’re going to vote to acquit only because they see themselves as having no other choice.
The Senators are Judges...not prosecutors or defenders. That's what the Managers and Trump's attorneys do.
Maybe the Democrats can repeat the word “scheme” a few thousand more times?
The only way Schiff stops if he is arrested for something involving Ed Buck or the Durham investigation. There are also natural causes that could take him down. Other than that, he will be going after Trump until the end of time. How dare Trump beat Hillary.
