Bert and Ernie may not be a same-sex couple, but the long-running children’s franchise Sesame Street is about to get an infusion of LGBT “vibes” with an upcoming guest appearance by actor and LGBT activist Billy Porter.
Porter, best known as Pray Tell in the FX’s LGBT ballroom drama Pose and for wearing extravagant dresses, will appear during the 51st season of the beloved children’s show, according to Sesame Street’s official Facebook page.
“Billy Porter bringing those fierce vibes to Sesame Street,” the post declares, accompanied by photos of Porter on the classic set, wearing a tuxedo gown.
Comments on the post were largely positive, though some readers expressed concern.
“That is pushing [too] much at little children, it makes no sense, kids have [too] much on their little plates as it is,” one said. “Why add more?”
“Sesame Street is for children. And diversity should be taught at a child appropriate level. A man in a dress is not child appropriate, in fact, it can be confusing,” another argued. “While striving to teach to ‘be yourself’ you're teaching boys who are masculine that it's not ok for them to be masculine.”
“As though our children are not confused enough. What is your agenda?” another asked. “Unbelievable. So disappointing.”
This isn’t the first time Sesame Street has promoted LGBT themes. In 2017, it tweeted a “rainbow” of multicolored Muppets for Pride Month with the declaration, “Sesame Street is proud to support families of all shapes, sizes, and colors.” Later that year, its song “Anyone Can Play” purported to smash gender norms for children’s toys and costumes, including the lyrics “some boys like to play dolls” while the male character Grover is seen in a purple dress.

My kids are older so Sesame Street isn’t on my radar but I’m sort of surprised this sort of thing hasn’t been done already. It sickens me that it is being done at all, but I’m not surprised.

The unfolding, deepening crisis of our society began with the proclamation of Gods’ death, meaning that men could no longer believe in Jesus Christ, God in human flesh. Though the crisis is in many forms, such as the loss of immutable truth and moral absolutes, it exists also in the loss of Western mans’ identity in Christ which is grounded in the Genesis account ex nihilo. With God in human flesh unbelievable and evolutionary thinking usurping the Genesis account the resulting crisis leads man to invent his own identity, giving rise certain people describing themselves as ‘trans-human,’ meaning no longer mere humans, and some to invent identity within an unfolding menu of orientations. Invention of ever evolving (changing) identity is the scourge known today as identity politics and intersectionality.
The ‘60s and ‘70s Sesame Street that I watched as a kid is probably still that far more educational than whatever is churned out nowadays. Not to mention The Electric Company from that era as well.
Yes, they’ve been targeting young people for years now.
Pretty soon they’ll be teaching the kids that 2+2=5.
I don’t wish harm on anyone, but this country is in serious need of some of that fatherly discipline the Bible talks about.
The grands were over for an hour last night and I tried to find a normal cartoon. Such bizarre crap out there for kids. I thought I had found a fairly tame cartoon, but then I noticed the boy in it was wearing a tiara. The cartoon was called Boy Girl or Girl Boy.....obviously an introduction for kids to sexual confusion and mental illness.
We should’ve defunded public tv/radio decades ago. Nothing but Communist propaganda and perversion.
This trait has been in Sesame Street’s genes since the start. It has now shown up in one of its creatures.
They have done their best to make you forget about all of those amazing programs. It is almost impossible to find them.
Remember when HIV was introduced on Sesame Street? It was a “disease,” not a lifestyle.
“Sesame Street” is now a red fur blob with a speech impediment and no knowledge of grammar or usage who screams at various middle aged hyperactive lisping homosexuals in front of a poorly animated green screen.

They want to make homosexuals and deviants out of our children.
You can always buy a bunch of DVDs of old cartoons to show the grandkids instead. Scooby doo, bugs bunny, tom and jerry, the flintstones, the jetsons, pink panther, yogi bear, woody woodpecker, etc, etc.
This thing happens all the time on Sesame Street. They have these hate-filled profane liberals on, like Patton Oswalt, Whoopi Goldberg, Bill Nye, etc. They don’t do anything political, though. The purpose of their appearance is to soften their image to the next generation of useful idiots so when they see them at indoctination centers (universities), they automatically have a positive attitude about them and their issues.
Isn’t it interesting that for something they claim they are supposedly born into, they feel the need to go out recruiting.
