Just breaking....
(Excerpt) Read more at cnbc.com ...
The flight attendants could strike and they’d find replacements. The pilots? Not so much.
Good luck to the pilots
If the airline replaces the flight attendants, the pilots would refuse to fly. There is such a huge shortage of pilots, an airline cannot possibly fire pilots.
It’s too bad the awful, stupid government didn’t do this weeks ago. It’s just common sense.
The .fedgov must hate the people who live here and want us replaced.
Good luck to the pilots
Ditto that!
I thought I read yesterday that British Airways and American Airlines had already halted flights to China.
I work for a Fortune 500, and we had a company wide email yesterday temporarily halting all employee business travel to mainland China, Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR and Taiwan. Wouldn’t be the slightest surprised if becomes widespread quickly.
British Air did. But American is suspending a couple of flights starting Feb 9th due to not enough demand...
“The airline is canceling two routes between February 9 and March 27 because of “significant decline in demand.” The canceled flights include those between Los Angeles and Shanghai (PVG) and Los Angeles and Bejing (PEK).
American Airlines (AAL) will continue to operate service to Hong Kong from its Dallas-Fort Worth and Los Angeles hubs.
My wife is scheduled for a flight to Tokyo then on to Taiwan on the 12th with American Airlines. I wonder if Tokyo will be next.
Can she cancel???
They must now have gotten the word from our resident FR epidemiologists that it’s just like the ordinary flu (or milder) and that there’s nothing to be concerned about.
s/b “must not”...
Now THIS is the time when unions come in handy.
My god! I love Trump, but President Trump needs to get ahead of this.
Even if the FAA orders a halt some half-assed Hawaiian judge will issue a nationwide injunction to stop it.
The flight attendants are the most at risk
Yes they are. And some of them get awfully close to the pilot if airline folklore is to be believed.
About time some stood up against spreading the virus to every airport in the US.
It’s all about $$$ for American and the like. Just wait until someone who got sick on a flight decides to sue. If enough did, American could be hurt badly. You know that 15 minute cleaning between flights isn’t going to kill this bug.
