I’ve always believed sunlight is the best disinfectant. If the Senate insists on making President Trump’s impeachment trial an even bigger circus by calling additional witnesses, then let’s call all the witnesses.
Because this is about much more than President Trump; this is about who runs the country – the American voters, or the Washington Establishment.
The Democrats, the Never-Trump Republicans, the anti-Trump media, the administrative state, the permanent bureaucracy and the special interest groups still haven’t gotten over the 2016 election. They are horrified at the prospect that American voters could reelect Trump in November.
Let the American people see how people in Congress make common cause with all the Trump haters in the media, the foreign policy establishment, the permanent bureaucracy, special interest groups and the intelligence community.
Let the American people see how Washington really works: how the intelligence community leaks selectively to the media to advance their mutual interests, how lawmakers and their staffs work with National Security Council staff members to undercut a president’s policies, how an official’s family and friends get rich by that connection, and how government officials do special favors for donors.
To that end, let’s hear from former National Security Adviser John Bolton about what Trump allegedly said to him in the Oval Office. I suspect Trump said plenty of inappropriate things. Let’s hear what Bolton thought was going through Trump’s head. It could be ugly. But words and thoughts are not illegal. Certain deeds are. It’s not what people say – it’s what they do that counts.

It should be clear after 3+ years that nothing of substantive will happen criminally to the Spygate perps. The best we can hope for is sunlight shined on the Deep State criminality. The best place for that to happen is the Senate.
I don’t know a time when the obvious has been more obvious.
The left has been after Trump for 4 years... all the while, THEY and THEIRS are guilty of the very things they have tried to pin on Trump.
Everyone knows it... their side won’t admit it... they cover, they deny, … but the chickens are coming home to roost.
Never has it been more ‘in your face’... The media is what covers them.. and people just don’t want to think their pet politician is who he actually is.. they’d rather blame it on an innocent man who is trying to save their hides and their lives.. and this country!
Why? So people like McCabe and Comey can brag about how they got away with it? “Look at how powerful we are. We got caught and you can’t do a damn thing.” I can’t see how that is helpful.
- A reduction in the number of illegal aliens crossing into our country to immediately suck on the government teat?
- Record high levels for the stock market?
- Rolling back of terrible Obama-era policies?
- Corrections to decades of unfair trade policies with other countries?
Why would any real American be terrified at getting more of that?
Plus one thing I learned after decades in my profession is sometimes the layers of bullshit are so deep you can’t even be half sure you know how many there even are. One way to be sure you have finally gotten “to the bottom” is when someone goes to prison. Very few volunteer to spend a long time in a steel box when they could be saved by scraping away one more layer of bullshit.
If your income of $50,000 a month depended on it you would be biting your fingernails into the second knuckle. Bet on it.
