Louise Linton, the wife of Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, displayed her support for environmental activist Greta Thunberg in a now-deleted Instagram post just days after her husband mocked the Swedish teen for her views on climate change.
“I stand with Greta on this issue,” Linton wrote on her page. “(I don’t have a degree in economics either) We need to drastically reduce our use of fossil fuels. Keep up the fight @gretathunberg.”
The Scottish-born actress, who describes herself as “Not a Republican. Not a Democrat. Humanitarian & Animal welfare activist. Pro-Environment. Vegan ” removed the posting on Saturday but screenshots of it were widely circulated on Twitter.

Why shouldn’t we? If federally-funded research can develop economical solar, economical small modular nuclear, or another economical alternative energy source, that may be a more frugal use of our tax dollars than our military (and worse - State Department) entanglements in the OPEC nations. Keep liquid hydrocarbons for flight, of course, but I see a lot of benefit to bankrupting the terrorist countries that are funded by oil revenue.

The US has enough oil to last us for hundreds of years.
The first thing, wind and solar are never going to amount to anything. Great for hobbiest homesteaders but that’s about it. As long as we have plenty of cheap oil nuclear isn’t going to be nearly as economical. If oil ever becomes scarce (which I doubt will ever happen) is when you switch to nuclear.
