Romney, Collins say Bolton revelations strengthen case for witnesses

A pair of moderate Republican senators said Monday that the major revelations from a soon-to-be released book by John Bolton strengthen the case for calling witnesses in President Donald Trump's impeachment trial — and even a top ally of the president said Bolton would be a "relevant" witness. Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, said it's "increasingly likely" there will be enough Republican senators to vote in favor of calling witnesses in the president's ongoing trial.

"I think, with the story (about Bolton's book) that came out yesterday, it's increasingly apparent that it would be important to hear from John Bolton," Romney told reporters. Romney said he hasn't fully made up his mind on calling witnesses, but what Bolton has to say is "relevant" and "therefore I'd like to hear it." "I think it's increasingly likely that other Republicans will join those of us who think we should hear from John Bolton," Romney said. "I've spoken with others who've opined upon this as well."

Perhaps after listening to Dershowitz they will change their minds - he made it clear even the charges were unconstitutional and mentioned that even if every word they’re saying Bolton put in his book is true, it has zero impact as it isn’t an impeachable offense.

Anyone who missed Dershowitz needs to find his presentation on line and watch it - fascinating and also depressing that so many of our “Reps” have no idea what the Constitution is all about.

He pretty much told them that to call more witnesses would serve only to keep a unconstitutional clown show moving because the articles have no impeachable offenses and nothing they’ve been claiming rises to such.
