TOKYO -- Countries with citizens in the central Chinese city that’s the epicenter of a viral outbreak are planning evacuations as the number of illnesses grow and China takes drastic measures to try to stop the spread of the virus.
A look at steps being taken:
CHINA: The government cut transportation links to and from the city of Wuhan on Jan. 22 and has since expanded those controls to several nearby cities.
JAPAN: Chief government spokesman Yoshihide Suga said 560 Japanese citizens are confirmed in Hubei and chartered evacuation flights are being prepared to leave “ as soon as possible. ”
UNITED STATES: The U.S. Consulate in Wuhan plans a charter flight Tuesday to evacuate its personnel and some other Americans.
FRANCE: Health Minister Agnes Buzyn said French citizens who want to leave Wuhan will be taken on a direct flight to France in the middle of the week, and then held in quarantine for 14 days.
SRI LANKA: The embassy in Beijing has applied for a Sri Lankan Airlines plan to be allowed to land at the Wuhan airport to airlift home 32 Sri Lankan students and their family members.
AUSTRALIA: Foreign Minister Marise Payne said her government is “exploring all opportunities” to help with evacuation of a number of Australians reportedly in Wuhan.
GERMANY: German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said that his country is considering evacuating its citizens from Wuhan, with a government crisis response committee meeting soon with medical experts to evaluate the situation.

Normal deaths that recur year after year from endemic causes are not cause for alarm. A new and apparently much more virulent cause that suddenly appears is cause for alarm.

I’ve said on other threads...the elites will be protected from this (Hillary left a screening of a biographic movie about her BEFORE it began, in some hurry, this weekend).
They will run the system until the wheels fall off for their own political and monetary gain. And if that means millions of peasants die, well there were too many people on the planet to begin with...

Also, I’m hoping that Trump already has ordered DOT, FEMA, and HHS to make plans. Stop all flights to USA from abroad, Canada, and Mexico. Turn international terminals into mini hospitals for people already inbound. Bring in FEMA cots and services.
And the plane needs to be quarantined/sanitized too.

The goal is to open the hospital in five days (on the 2nd) and staff it with soldiers. Not enough doctors otherwise.
I’ll bet sales are down on this brand.
These evacuations seem like the perfect way to spread the virus worldwide. If a city is quarantined, everybody there, locals & foreigners, should remain there until the exposure threat has passed.
I’m not talking about “endemic” causes”; rather from potential “pandemic causes” of infected people traveling to so many places, so quickly, that you’re absolutely right: it is cause for alarm.
Fever screening is clinical insanity.

There is no rapid and accurate diagnostic test.

The Chinese are driving non-corona patients to clinics where they are packed in with actual corona patients.

In the US, possible patients are sent home with orders to stay out of the public until symptoms expand and obsolete SARS testing shows a corona virus.

The Chinese mean well, but communist control type thinking is going to cause a faster infection rate.
Wuhan is a city of 11 million people, y'know, and counting, which suggests the problem could get to be quite serious. In that LiveLeak (watching now) cops are turning back a carload of people from Wuhan, and the driver is complaining that Wuhan's authorities won't let them back in.
This is the right way - the crap about 'watching people' or having them 'check in' in insane.
