Coronavirus outbreak: China to build new hospital in week | Fox ...

Because, in a nation of over 300,000,000 people, this number of flu deaths is normal. Like the over 30,000 dead from motor vehicle crashes, and the vastly larger number of deaths from cardiovascular disease.
But this coronavirus is not (at least not yet) normal. Just like a helicopter crash involving a prominent citizen, this is an unusual, unexpected event. It is a new illness about which the characteristics and threat are unknown. That makes it newsworthy. Flu deaths (of which one of my coworkers was one last year) will only become news if, like in 1918, the number spikes unexpectedly.
Rifght, the flu is far more deadly so far yet we seem to just accept that hear after year. I am more frightened of the flu and the deaths on the very young and the elderly from the flu.
Now I understand.
They are trying to get the property graded at super-speed.
There are a lot of ways to get killed on that job site even BEFORE you catch the coronavirus.
That doesn't make sense.
Shelter in place.
I thought if you are coming back from a diseased area you may be put in quarantine.
a coyote hired them to do that, was looking to stop a roadrunner.
Watch this take hold in a homeless encampment here and then the fun starts.
Russia tried covering up Chernobyl.
Iran tried covering up their missile strike on a passenger plane.
Eventually some of those who are putting forth “all is fine” stories will have a “mea culpa” moment.
I keep wondering if or when the US reporters will finally break their silence on all of the lies and false reports they’ve made in history.
We’ve caught them red handed on numerous occasions and it hasn’t been enough.
2,000 beds
Gee. How many ventilators?
Doesn’t that come with Lyme Disease?
There is a podcast from a week ago with some bio guy from the military. Before the details of this virus were known. He said the same thing.
“So -its one thing for the guy that can afford to stay at home from work and not drive his BMW to work. What about the guy that is living pay-check to pay-check and takes the bus to work? Oh - it’s only a bit of a cold, I’ll be fine. And how will we pay the rent if I don’t go to work?”
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
If a quarantine saves just one child's life, it's worth it.
Fighting a fire by spreading the embers far and wide. It’s inclusive. Participation trophies for all!
They're just doing their morning Tai Chi.
So the Central Government can get a dramatic aerial photo showing they are doing "something" to contain the virus.
Evacuation is not useful without two weeks of strict quarantine when the evacuees reach their home countries. Without that it will only spread the disease much faster.
Were it for disposing of the corpses I suspect that large blades and very large scoops would be in use. These backhoes would be digging small graves. Epidemic disposal would bring large mass graves i.e. very big holes.
China should be evacuated totally of Americans who arrive home to two weeks strict quarantine, including flight crews. Then China should be sealed off. No one, even diplomats, out until this things winds down. It won’t happen. The government people who are required to implement such a thing in all the other countries have money to protect and to make.
