RightWisconsin is always reluctant to endorse candidates for public office. We would like to remain a forum for candidates and let the voters decide for themselves.
However, there are circumstances in the 7th congressional district special election that compel us to indicate a preference in that race. Those circumstances lead us to conclude that Sen. Tom Tiffany (R-Hazelhurst) is the only candidate deserving of Republican votes in the February 18 GOP primary.
Tiffany and his opponent Jason Church are currently fighting a battle of who can be more supportive of President Donald Trump. Were a long way from when Wisconsin was the last holdout against Trump in the 2016 presidential primaries.
But if we are going to have that battle, Church fails on Trumps signature issue of wanting to drain the swamp. Church is too busy allying himself with the Creature from the Black Lagoon of Wisconsin politics, former Assembly Speaker John Gard.

Despite threats from special interests, Tiffany supported the successful repeal of Wisconsins prevailing wage laws. He has committed to fighting the Bacon-Davis law at the federal level, too.
Church, who served on U.S. Sen. Ron Johnsons staff, is running as an outsider. But when the taxpayers needed Church, he let them down and took a giant suck of swamp water instead.

Republicans deserve a candidate whom they know will fight for conservative principles in Washington, not Gards special interest allies. We strongly encourage every Republican to vote for Tiffany in the GOP primary on February 18, and then vote for Tiffany again in the special election on May 12.

“Took a giant suck of swamp water”. I’m gonna remember that
Everyone knows that the Wisconsin GOP will screw this up. Trump won the State, yet the Cheese Heads voted in outright Communists Tony Evers and Mandela Barnes for Governor and Lt. Gov.
Wisconsin has one of the worst left wing Senators in Tammy Baldwin who was ripe for the picking in 2018. The GOP settled on unelectable Leah Vukmir. Baldwin won in a landslide.
The list of GOP screwed up elections in Wisconsin could fill a book written by Paul “rotten” Ryan.

“...yet the Cheese Heads voted in outright Communists Tony Evers and Mandela Barnes for Governor and Lt. Gov.”
Nope. Dane and Milwaukee Counties voted for them. The rest of the state is relatively sane. But, 30K (harvested) votes was all it took, and Governor Walker was tired of the DEATH THREATS made against his family, his parents and the family dog. I don’t blame him.
We are still fighting an uphill battle, but ‘One and Done’ Evers is a placeholder until we find another Governor close to Scott Walker. Republicans still hold the majorities in our House and Assembly (Senate.) Evers won’t get a thing done and will get nothing reversed. His biggest ‘scandal’ right now is turning over transportation dollars (our roads suck!) to parks and recreation - but that’s not flying, either.
My $ is on Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch to run for Governor, but time will tell.
Wisconsin has had vastly more Republican Governors than Democrats:

And Wisconsin WILL deliver another Wisconsin Trump Victory, by a larger margin this time around.
The WI GOP sucks in a lot of ways, but they’re not as awful as you portray them to be.
Neither are the Conservative voters of Wisconsin. :)
Right on, Diana!
Tiffany replaced a state senator who sold out Wisconsin tavern owners out with her support of the smoking ban which ultimately led to a denial of a on premises set aside smokers facility to a complete smokers prohibition . That along with the .o8 alcohol DUI arrest has led to a significant reduction in that business.
The concern I have is this; If Tiffany wins and BTW he’s endorsed by Scott Walker Who is going to replace him considering we now have Evers a far lefty governor appointing his replacement.
“Who is going to replace him considering we now have Evers a far lefty governor appointing his replacement.”
I don’t think it’s an appointment. There are candidates running for Tiffany’s vacated seat. It’ll be another Special Election, I think?
One goofy Dem has already thrown her hat in the ring. She’ll not have much traction ‘Up Nort.’
It’s a shame we had to lose Sean Duffy in the first place, though. :(
According to Ballotopedia, these are the rules about how Wisconsin replaces state legislators who resign or die: If there is a vacancy in the Wisconsin State Legislature, a special election must be held to fill the vacant seat.[96] The governor can call for an election when allowed by law. The election cannot be held after February 1 before a spring general election, unless it is held on the same day of the election, which is the first Tuesday in April. The same requirement applies to any election preceding the fall general election (after September 1), with the exception of elections held on the first Tuesday in November.[97] Also, all vacancies must be filled quickly as long the vacancy happened before the second Tuesday in May during an election year.
Thanks. I read that, too.
Also - more scuttlebutt on Rebecca Kleefisch running for Governor. She was dropping big hints when she spoke at a recent Conservative Women’s Forum.
Yay! :)
