Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), said Sunday the American public shouldn't worry about the coronavirus outbreak in China.
"It's a very, very low risk to the United States," Fauci said during an interview with radio show host John Catsimatidis.
"But it's something that we as public health officials need to take very seriously... It isn't something the American public needs to worry about or be frightened about. Because we have ways of preparing and screening of people coming in [from China]. And we have ways of responding - like we did with this one case in Seattle, Washington, who had traveled to China and brought back the infection."

So far, the US government is not handling this well. I guess they don’t want to start a panic, but people will panic if it starts spreading like wildfire here.

there are cases all over the US - the virus is infectious even during the 14 day incubation period. It lasts 5 days on surfaces, person to person transmittal, airborne transmittal. Eyes need to be covered with goggles, removal of ear wax opens an infection vector.
There are frequently no obvious symptoms apparent in an infected (contagious) person. Testing for fever is useless.
Don’t be concerned - panic
Have to wait and see who else gets it. That would be something if one had been developed to target specific race. Hope it hasnt been done.
Trump needs to follow the lead of the Asian countries which are blocking Chinese from entering.
Whatever it was we are stupid for not banning flights from China.

Let’s hope Fauci is right. Its not politically correct to observe ( and political correctness indeed permeates and hinders scientific inquiry) but different population groups have different genetic predisposition and vulnerability to infectious agents. Asiatics may be more susceptible to the particular coronavirus than say Caucasians and African blacks.
