Then-President Barack Obama decried candidate Donald Trump as a fascist during a phone conversation with Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA) amid the heat of the 2016 presidential election, the failed vice-presidential pick Kaine reveals in a forthcoming documentary on Hillary Clinton, according to NBC News.
In an episode of Hillary, a four-part documentary series airing on Hulu, about the former secretary of states life, Kaine recalls his conversation with Obama while conversing with Clinton and wife Anne Holton.
President Obama called me last night and said, Tim, remember, this is no time to be a purist. Youve got to keep a fascist out of the White House,' said the Virginia Democrat, adding that the then-president knows me and he knows that I could tend to err.
I echo that sentiment, Clinton replied. But thats really the weight of our responsibility is so huge.
The date of the exchange is unknown.
Obamas reported characterization of President Trump is his strongest attack on the Republican known to date. The former president took a veiled shot at Trump in his 2016 Democrat National Convention speech, warning homegrown demagogues threaten the United States.
Speaking Saturday at the Sundance film festival with The Atlantics Jeffrey Goldberg, Clinton expanded on thoughts about Obamas pointed criticism.
If you look at the definition [of fascist], which Ive had the occasion to read several times, said Clinton, I think we can agree on several things: One, he has authoritarian tendencies and he admires authoritarian leaders, [Vladimir] Putin being his favorite, she added. He uses a form of really virulent nationalism. He identifies targets: immigrants, blacks, browns, gays, women, whoever the target of the day or week is
I think you see a lot of the characteristics of what we think of [as] nationalistic, fascistic kinds of tendencies and...

Proving, once again, that Barry has never had an original thought.
A thought hit me out of the blue, when studying the Nazis and the Communists before Hitler took power. Its that to a communist, anyone who is not a communist is actually a fascist. There have been real fascists but the criteria for fascist is very low for a real Marxist or communist.
Is being an Article II unconstitutional usurping cultural Marxist worse then being a fascist??? Just asking....
Better than being an atheist, moslem, communist, fascist momma’s boy who was hanging out at the “man country” gay bathhouse in Chicago.
Sounds more like the Obama Administration.

Fascism definition is - a political philosophy, movement, or regime (such as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition.
"The Italian Origin of Fascism The English words fascism and fascist are borrowings from Italian fascismo and fascista, derivatives of fascio (plural fasci), bundle, fasces, group. Fascista was first used in 1914 to refer to members of a fascio, or political group. In 1919, fascista was applied to the black-shirted members of Benito Mussolinis organization, the Fasci di combattimento (combat groups), who seized power in Italy in 1922. Playing on the word fascista, Mussolinis party adopted the fasces, a bundle of rods with an ax among them, as a symbol of the Italian people united and obedient to the single authority of the state. The English word fascist was first used for members of Mussolinis fascisti, but it has since been generalized to those of similar beliefs.

Not the best definition, but will do.

What else would you expect a communist to call a patriotic American?
Socialist calls capitalist, fascist (socialist using veneer of capitalism to their advantage).
It is a typical tactic by the left to call anybody Fascist for whom they have in their cross hairs. Fascist is one of the most overused and ill defined terms. I guarantee that Kenyan fidiot named Barry could not specifically define Fascism with true examples. He just name calls like all leftist scum.
That was Trump wearing a Hillary disguise! Impeach! Again!
“Obamas reported characterization of President Trump is his strongest attack on the Republican known to date.”
Trump gets attacked like this everyday. Comes with the territory. So what makes this any different? Why is it the “strongest attack to date”? Obama never said this publicly. If he indeed said this there’s no indication that he ever intended for it to be made public. And lastly, is repetitive name-calling a “stronger attack” when it comes from a lightweight like Obama?
Liberal Projection - it is the cornerstone of leftist pathology.
> Then-President Barack Obama decried candidate Donald Trump as a fascist <
To be fair, Obama was probably just reading off of a Teleprompter at the time.
The Kenyanesian Usurper is a marxist muslim.
President Trump is not a fascist.
He’s a patriot.
Leftists hate patriots because they hate America.
Obama - who instituted ‘Obamacare’ - is too stupid to know what ‘fascist’ really means.
For communists, you can even be a communist and still get called a fascist: Stalin called Trotsky a fascist after they split up.
