First he tried to parody the president.
Now he jokes about jail for senators who get out of line.
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff might have been kidding when he kicked off Thursdays installment of the Democratic tragicomedy known as President Donald Trumps impeachment trial by alluding to the potential for imprisonment for U.S. senators but it didnt go over well at all.
I also want again take this opportunity to thank the senators for their long and considerable attention over the course of the last two days, he said.
Of course it doesnt hurt that the morning starts out every day with a sergeant-at-arms warning you that if you dont, you will be in prison.
It is our hope that when the trial concludes and youve heard us and the presidents counsel over a series of long days, that you dont choose imprisonment instead of anything further.
The goal was apparently to remind the senators about their duty to attend to the evidence though Democrats were hardly sinless when it came to disregarding protocol.

Hitler was pretty puny too.
It’s scary enough what schiff really wants.
Thank God he could never achieve Real power.
To me, the only relevant burning question that must be answered is will Schiff lose his bowels when the rope snaps tight?
He wasn’t joking. It wasn’t a parody.
This is a trial. Who jokes at a trial?
It was a threat.
Schiff needs to go old school if he wants people to laugh. I would suggest that he use his fellow petty tyrant, Eric Stallwell, as a role model: https://nypost.com/2019/11/19/congressman-eric-swalwell-appears-to-fart-on-live-tv/
I don’t know, but I wonder what happens when bowels are used as the rope.
“...To me, the only relevant burning question that must be answered is will Schiff lose his bowels when the rope snaps tight?....”
Most likely BEFORE the rope snaps tight. Perhaps the more relevant burning question that must be answered is will those big ole bug eyes pop clean out of their sockets like a “jack in the box” when that rope snaps tight.
If it was humor, and I have my doubts, it was particularly obtuse. The subtext to the thing was Nanzi’s theme all along: “We’re the House and we’re in charge of the government.” Appending that the next day with “Heh-heh, I wuz just kidding” isn’t helping.
While he may be immune from lying on the Senate floor, he's not immune criminal prosecution for his CONSPIRACY to FRAUDULENTLY IMPEACH THE PRESIDENT.
> The goal was apparently to remind the senators about their duty to attend to the evidence
It was a threat, and a warning of what he would do if he were in power.
What a sh*t-for-brains this guy is! I am amazed even his Dem California district hasn’t begun a recall effort if only to seek amends for electing this guy in the first place.
First he tried to parody the president.
Well that’s wrong. He tried to pass a fabrication off as an actual transcript and when his lie was called out he pulled the Michael Moore crap. Whenever anyone points any of the numerous lies in any of his “documentaries” he just says oh that is just satire.
GITMO is too good for this vile POS.
This is a burlesque of a judicial event.
The guy that everyone knows conspired with the accusers to concoct the allegation is up there threatening the second highest body of the American federation as if they were all subordinate to him.
Schiff is revealing himself as a Madman completely oblivious to how he appears to everyone else.
He really is Captain Queeg.
Astonishing to watch this nut act out on his delusion of grandeur where he hijacks the entire American legislative system for his own obsessions and fabrications and no one stops him or holds him to account.
That may be a calculated approach here, but it’s doing enormous damage to our country.
One megalomaniac shouldn’t be able to wag the dog the way he has.
What an a$$.
I agree with Schiff. He should be put in prison. And soon.
