Gun control is just the start.
Now that the Virginia Senate and House of Delegates are controlled by Democrats for the first time in a generation, the legislature has the votes to move the state to the left, and gun control is at the top of their agenda. One bill mandates background checks for private sales of firearms, another prohibits the purchase of more than one handgun per month, and a third allows municipalities to ban firearms from public spaces and events. On Tuesday, a day after a large, peaceful crowd gathered outside the capitol building in Richmond, Va. to protest the bills, the state Senate took up “red-flag” legislation that would allow any attorney or law-enforcement official to apply for an emergency judicial order to “prohibit a person who poses a substantial risk of injury to himself or others from purchasing, possessing, or transporting a firearm.”
Gun control, though, is only part of the Democratic legislature’s agenda.
To pull the state’s economic policy to the left, Virginia Democrats have proposed measures to weaken the state’s right-to-work law, curb greenhouse-gas emissions, and raise the minimum wage.
To do the same for its social policy, they’ve introduced a bill that would repeal conscience protections for Catholic and other religious adoption agencies, effectively shutting those agencies down, and a bill that would require all public elementary and secondary schools to allow students who identify as transgender to participate on the sports teams and use the locker-rooms and showers of their preference.
On abortion, one bill would remove parental–consent requirements, 24-hour waiting periods, and ultrasound requirements. Another bill would declare that a “pregnant person has a fundamental right to choose to

Let’s hope they push us right into West Virginia. Make Virginia one state again. Let Northam have “The Southern District of DC”.
On the left side of the 95 counties and 30 cities that voted to be Second Amendment sanctuaries is West Virginia; my suggestion is that they leave the liberals in the five counties of northern VA and Richmond City to their own devices to create and live in their own mess.
As far as Virginia’s voters will let them.
And if this is really based on Fedzilla employment and changing demographics, they’ll be California within a decade.
I think (I hope) the pendulum has swung as far left as it is going to and the voters now see the Democrats for who they are. There should be a turn away from leftist politicians during the next election, but we have to weather the socialist storm until then. I may be wrong but as a Virginian this is the only hope I have for commonwealth.
I blame George W. Bush for a lot of this.
All the way to violence. They are probing for soft spots. They see it as a win-win no matter what. It’s also being supported by the bureaucratic deep state. It’s not a coincidence they chose Virginia as their beta testing. This began under Terry the terrible. The fruits are just softening up a bit now. Bigly bad outcome for everyone.

As for the Constitutions, both Virginia and the US, we got a taste of what they plan to do when they proposed the penalties for criticizing government officials.

Looks like they are pushing to eliminate free speech now. Be prepared to be thrown in jail if you live in Virginia.

The VA government is essentially a subsidiary of Mike Bloomberg’s office. He all but literally bought the state government.

These clowns live in a bubble and dangerously overestimate their power and security and the “security” they get from the deep state. They did not learn their lesson from Monday and are not heeding the warning that came from those who ensured that the rally went off peacefully. They ate going to get another demonstration that will really get their attention.
Dems will push Virginia counties as far away as West Virginia.
