Joe Biden, the 2020 Democratic presidential frontrunner, said Wednesday he wants "no part" of a witness swap reportedly being discussed by some members of his own party.
Under the hypothetical deal, Democrats would reportedly offer up Biden or his son Hunter Biden to testify at President Trump's Senate impeachment trial in return for testimony from a Republican figure, such as ex-national security adviser John Bolton.
The Washington Post quoted the former vice president admitting that it was "not an irrational question" but said Trump's trial was a "constitutional issue." He said he does not want to see the trial turn into a "farce or some kind of political theater."

Joe could not plead the 5th for the reason you state. He’ll have no control of the questioning - Very specific questions about Ukraine, about his staffers being approached by the State Dept concerned about the optics/potential conflicts of Hunter’s being on Burisma, why he traveled there 4 days before Trump’s inauguration, etc etc (Bet there will be a lot of executive privilege claims by Joe for obozo.) Joe’s appearance, his anger, how he handles himself, etc etc will deep-6 his 2020 campaign immediately.
The demokraps would never agree to Joe being a witness. Putting his name up would put an end to the calling of any witnesses in the Senate.
The nominee is up to the party.....just like it was when Obama got the nomination....against all odds. Yet Hillary was not upset...not one teeny bit....kissed his butt and became SOS.

I think it is a certainty that since Schiff for Brains used video and other props, the Republican managers use Biden’s quid pro quo video as a prop. That will leave a huge mark on the campaign.

No, the pubs better keep Hunter alive. If anything happened to him, Joe would get boatloads of sympathy.

As others have said, the impeachment process is a political process, not a criminal trial.
I need to keep reminding myself of that. Even being a strong Trump supporting, I keep thinking that it should be more of a criminal process. “You call your witnesses, and we’ll call our witnesses.”
