House Judiciary Chairman Adam Schiff said that President Trump’s alleged misconduct can’t be proven at the ballot box but only through his impeachment. The California Democrat is one of the House’s impeachment managers and made the remarks during his opening statement on Wednesday.
“If not remedied by his conviction in the Senate and removal from office, President Trump’s abuse of his office and obstruction of Congress will permanently alter the balance of power among the branches of government,” the 59-year-old congressman said.
Schiff accused Trump of attempting to “use the powers of the presidency to cheat in an election.”
“For precisely this reason, the president’s misconduct cannot be decided at the ballot box, for we cannot be assured that the vote will be fairly won,” he said. “The president has shown he believes he is above the law and scornful of constraint,” Schiff added.

Shifty Schiff is mentally ill, but this is a plan by the Dims to poison the President’s impending re-election. I think the Dims know he’ll be re-elected, but spreading this nonsense will keep their base riled up.
Schiff is terrified of Trump’s reelection. We can only hope that Trump’s coattails are long and wide - there is a very diverse group of younger, more unapologetically conservative candidates running for House seats this year. Andrew Wilkow is in the process of interviewing many of them and I’m impressed.
