RESOLUTION AT LINK.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) on Monday released a resolution laying out the ground rules for President Donald Trump's impeachment trial.

Trump's team and the House of Representatives have until 9 a.m. on Wednesday to file any motions. The exception being motions to subpoena witnesses or documents. All responses filed to any motions have to be in by 11 a.m. on Wednesday.

The trial will begin at 1 p.m. on Wednesday. The House will have two days to make their case for impeachment but their time allotment cannot exceed 24 hours. After that, Trump's legal team will be given two days to make their case and again, that cannot exceed a 24 hour time period.

Once the president's team finishes their presentation, senators can ask questions but they are limited to a 16-hour time frame. There will then be a 4-hour argument split between the House and Trump's team. Deliberation will follow. At that time the Senate will decide whether or not to subpoena witnesses or documents.

If the Senate decides to allow either side to subpoena witnesses, the witnesses will undergo a deposition and then the Senate will decide if those witnesses will testify.

Once the deliberations are concluded the Senate will vote on each individual article of impeachment.

Below is the full resolution:

I know the house has a hard time articulating a message, but they get 24 hours to ‘orange man bad?’

Got it. And if the Executive DID hold them up, would that a “crime” as such - or just a crisis of powers between branches of government?

“senators can ask questions “

It’s been said that in the past, “asking” a question must be in writing, and senators don’t really speak at all in this setting. I wonder if that has changed.

Will they allow the House to present Hearsay or Supposition testimony?

In a fair trial they would gavel that down.

Imagine if the liberals were in charge and they said,

"At that time the Senate will decide whether or not to subpoena witnesses or documents.

If the Senate decides to allow either side to subpoena witnesses, the witnesses will undergo a deposition and then the Senate will decide if those witnesses will testify. "

Thats at least an 18 month delay right off the top.

I sincerely doubt that sending foreign aid without conditions or vetting to a European country was something memorialized in the US constitution

Lets see how many "Republicans" decide to assist them.

I can easily come up with a list of 10 Rinos, led by Romney, that will give 4-6 votes for each Dem request.

Very good indications here.

1. There’s a pretrial review. One motion will probably be a motion to dismiss. Another will be an appeal to the SCOTUS or Roberts about whether the impeachment articles are even valid since they have no criminal code statues attached. This could be the end of it, as I feel SCOTUS could convene (without RBG?) and quickly find the impeachment pointless. Something similar happened with Andrew Johnson.

2. Depositions will be made, so witnesses will be liable for perjury if any testify. This will also result in more ambiguous and limited testimony.

3. The White House will probably present all information about Hunter Biden in the pre-testimony phase. This could be very damaging, as since the evidence on Hunter Biden is already out there and quite damning, there’s a very good reason why Trump wanted him investigated: corruption.

There is nothing a Senator hates more than being on nationwide TV and not being able to grandstand.

For weeks.

My guess is Democrats break this protocol in spades. They can’t help themselves and their base demands it of them. Think Kavanaugh X100.

I can see Mitch ordering adjournment for the day with some Dim playing Mr. Smith goes to Washington while the Capitol police have to clear the steps and halls of rioters.

Folks, as crazy as the last few months have been, you ain’t seen nothing yet. There’s a three ring circus coming to town, and they’re going to stay awhile.

It doesn’t matter what rules are laid down, the second it starts the Rats and the media are going to immediately claim the trial is unfair and fixed. Needless to say.

You mean like Ballsy Ford and the rest of the liars during the Kavanaugh circus?

That was a moon shot for them and failed completely. They felt pretty good after taking down Roy Moore and tried the same approach. The problem this time is that Ballsy’s claims were complete bull**** and everyone knew it. She only had the therapy session to cover her *** because she was illegally renting an apartment in Palo Alto.
