A Missouri husband and wife who had been married for 65 years died just hours apart from each other Saturday, holding hands in adjacent beds at a nursing home in St. Louis.
Jack Morisson met his future wife, Harriet, when he was a bus driver chauffeuring her father on a trip with a drum and bugle corps.
Harriet was accompanying her dad on that trip and went on her first date with Jack on Halloween 1955.

They grew up without no-fault divorce and “tinder” meant sticks for starting fires.

My aunt & uncle were devoted to each other. They died two days apart.

So here's the grammar nitpick of the week: the title would be far better as "Missouri couple married 65 years die on the same day." Using "dies" singular, implies that they died together as a unit, at exactly the same moment, or that the couple died, but the individuals that used to be in the couple might still be alive.

Here is another nitpick, it was 63 years not 65.

True love! I imagine Jack asked the Lord not to leave his precious Harriet on this earth. Like the song says, they are strolling Heaven together.

If the Lord tarries, this is how I would pray He brings my wife and me home... And I don’t want her heart broken, so selfishly I hope we go together.

My best friend’s mother, whom I adored, and they loved me too, dropped dead in 1998.
When the ambulance showed up, he said “You have to save her, because I can’t live without her.”
He dropped dead on the spot. She lingered in in the hospital for a couple of weeks and then was morphined to death.
I loved them so much. You can’t make this stuff up.

Beautiful. They must have been beloved of the Lord.
Mark Shultz has a song, He Was Walking Her Home, that tells a similar story. I remember it coming on in the car one time when my wife and I were driving across country. We both thought the lyrics were especially powerful.

My husband's Grandmother died of a heart attack. The day after the funeral they stopped by to see how he was doing and found him sitting in the chair on the porch also dead of heart failure. Funny thing. He had just had a full workup a month or so before and showed no signs of heart trouble.
Just did not want to go on without her.
