Rand has old scores to settle with Graham over foreign policy. It may very well be he intends to blow up whatever parliamentary slight of hand Graham and McConnell have cooked up.

That we have not heard exactly what McConnell plans to do on witnesses makes me think they intend to bully POTUS into a bad deal. What that something is remains to be seen.

No Biden, No Bolton.

That’s a bad deal. No Bolton. Period. Cruz’s one for one witnesses deal is totally insane. Dems will get their witnesses and Dems will not reply in good faith. Doublecross guaranteed.

Fatty Naddy doesn’t have a say in this issue as it is a senate function. Let Fatty Naddy bloviate all he wants because it will not matter but he could be a witness to the obstruction in the house hearings to the Republicans.

What benefit is there to controlling the Senate, if you forgo all your advantages and options?

No witnesses at all! If the Senate allows them, the Dems will bring an endless stream of witnesses to support (so they think) the very vague articles of impeachment - vague enough to bring witnesses for every gripe they have against the President, from Stormy on up.

Graham actually thought his “friends” on the other side of the aisle were going to be reasonable because he supported Mueller and backed Mueller until the End.

I’ve watched him every Sunday and it has hit home. He realized that he’s getting screwed and he walked Trump into this. He was a defeated man today.

What a farce. Jabba the Nadler knows Hunter Biden would be destroyed in testimony and give up the whole ball game.

You didn’t think it through. Hunter could suck up nose candy, fail the drug test and render himself an unreliable and useless witness, neatly escaping while enjoying a binge. Classic briar patch deal for that paradigm of business acumen.

Clearly, the president has assembled a very impressive dream team to defend him in the upcoming trial. When I look at the list, I see that David Horowitz, Ken Starr, and Robert Ray but I also see an octogenarian, a septuagenarian and a sexagenarian, men who are without peer in motion practice in a constitutional law context.

But, conceding my understanding of the whole team might be incomplete, I see no 40-year-old active litigator whom I would choose to be on his feet day after day cross-examining witnesses. For that job you want a young, agile and active litigator.

Therefore I guess (repeat "guess") that either the president's team is extremely confident that the matter will not proceed to a trial with witnesses or, perhaps more likely, the deal has been cut with Mitch McConnell and at least 50 other senators to drop the hammer after opening arguments.

At that point the Senate will either dismiss on motion with 51 votes or more likely simply vote not to entertain witnesses as they did in the Clinton impeachment, and move to a vote of conviction or acquittal with an acquittal being the foregone conclusion.

Maybe that’s what he’s after. Piss Mitch and the R Senators off enough that they pull the trigger on dismissal, the Dems can say the crooked R’s cheated them but Trump is still Impeached Forever and they save Humpster Biden’s skin.

Nadless is probably one of a few in Congress who could actually get the Feckless Four: Murkowski, Mike Lee, Mittens, and Collins, to go along on something that requires just a simple majority vote.

I wonder how much Fat Jerry made from the “democrat” scams of the Ukrainians. He appears scared to death that the Feds might “flip” Biden’s little offspring.

The standard for credible witness has been defined by the FISA Court. They created this absolute mess. They need to shut it down.

If they don’t want to allow the President to call witnesses, no reason they should be allowed to call theirs.

Its a two way street. The House Democrats can put up or STFU. They don’t get to dictate terms to the Senate.
