Throughout last year, Americans purchased 1.244 billion movie admissions, which is five percent lower than last year and only a little higher than the number sold in 2017 and 2017 is the worst year on record since 1995.
How is the movie industry supposed to fix itself if the very institution charged with reporting on it keeps lying about whats really going on?
Here are the facts
To begin with, the movie biz has alienated half the American population. If Ronald McDonald ran around calling half the country a bunch Nazi, racist, ignorant, sexist Christian-tards, like Hollywood does traditional Americans, does Deadline believe that might-maybe-perhaps hurt hamburger sales over at McDonalds?
Of course it would, but Deadline doesnt believe the film industrys spokespeople, the movie bizs own Ronald McDonalds Robert De Niro, Alec Baldwin, Samuel L. Jackson, Stephen King, Meryl Streep, Jim Carrey, Mark Hamill, Jennifer Lawrence, George Clooney, Jamie Lee Curtis, Lena Dunham, Chris Evans (I could go on forever) might have damaged the brand just a bit?
Speaking of politics, how about if every McDonalds hamburger didnt taste as good as it could because it was stuffed with something people find distasteful like, oh, say, obnoxious politics? What if the enjoyment of the hamburger was lessened because the chef didnt care if his special hurt the taste? You think that might hurt hamburgers sales?

Any CEO or business gets involved in politics is stupid...
Give the money to who you want to win but keep your mouth shut..
Hollywood doesn’t care. They make movies for China now. The overseas market is where it’s at.
Last theater movie I saw was “Ironman” in 2008....
Maybe they should concentrate on entertaining us, rather than hitting us constantly with a political cudgel.
Ha Ha!
Any movie that has PC crap is off my list. Thats most of them.
The one and only good Iron Man.
Passion of The Christ
Circa 2004
The last movie we bought tickets and went to a movie theater to see it.
The Imitation Game (2014) During World War II, the English mathematical genius Alan Turing tries to crack the German Enigma code with help from fellow mathematicians.
Movie quality is at an all time low. Nothing but gutter humor, vampires, zombies, DC comics and social justice. I am a movie buff and love to watch movies. Almost the entire Neflix top 100 looks terrible to me. Almost nothing watchable on the entire list.
The last good movie I saw was “The Art of Racing in the Rain”. Not exactly a mainstream movie and I knew going in it would be good after reading the book and knowing it was an independent film.
I am relegated to watching old B movies I missed over the past 50 years, since they are now so much better than the tripe being put out today.
Hollywood still puts out a few good movies occassionaly, but good grief you have to hunt for them.
Ya’all realize that foreign nations think America is like the movies and CNN which has worldwide news services.
If you were wondering why so many hate us...
I almost never go to the theater but I see more movies now than I ever did before. Home screens today are of cinema quality and you don't have noisy teenagers sitting in front of you with their cell phones lit up and old people munching popcorn behind you.
What is it with movies and popcorn anyhow? I've never had the desire to eat when watching a movie and others around me mindlessly munching during the movie aggravate me.
Much better seeing a movie at home in your recliner with a glass of wine.
When you have a decent setup at home, who needs to go the theatre? I know there were a lot of good movies made last year but I can wait another year to see them at home. They will be just as good then. Just like "True Grit" was just as good 51 years later.
They need us. We do not need them. Any questions?
The last time I went in a cinema was to see “Rogue One,” three years ago.
Last Movie in the Theatre was “Midway”. Probably going to see “1917” as well. Before that is was both Denesh DeSousa Movie Documentaries.
Awwwwwwwwwwww come on, people!! We can do much better than this!! Step it up! Make HOLLYWOOD Dumpster Dive , Again!
