The agent said she needed to pat down my braids. She pulled them behind my shoulders, laughed [and] said giddy up! as she snapped my braids like reins, Houska told her 32,000 Twitter followers. My hair is part of my spirit. I am a Native woman. I am angry, humiliated. Your 'fun' hurt."

I admit I didnt read the entire article before posting. After reading, it appears her response was appropriate as was the TSA management’s to her complaint.
She isn’t asking for a payout.
What the TSA agent did was insulting and unprofessional. They are intrusive enough without that. Some of them abuse their power if you complain - at least this one did not.
The ethnic/racial angle may or may not have been relevant to the agent. Obviously it was to the traveler and that surely sparked the apology from the higher-ups.
Suck it up, princess buttercup and get on the damned plane.
No big fan of TSA myself but....
I’d need to see the security cam video of this before I just believe this “native American” woman.
By the way, I’m a “Native” American too - I was BORN here.
Just sayin’.
I think I just outed myself as one who commented before reading the article.
Having experienced hundreds of TSA workers at many airports, I honestly find them to be courteous, kind, efficient and no-nonsense. Sometimes they are really pleasant and funny. I really dont see how they can maintain that demeanor day after day after day.
I honestly dont understand where you get supposed information you stated; I figure you are disgruntled and made it all up.
The TSA job is especially tough because a failure to catch an object could result in the deaths of hundreds of people. I would hate having that pressure on me.
I wouldnt last a day in that job.
My consistent thoughts EVERY time I go through a TSA line are 1) thanks a lot you damned moslems and 2) the combined direct and indirect cost of this moslem-forced security probably costs us a tenth of a point of GDP.
Put the blame where it really belongs moslems, not TSA.
Payouts are the only language the government oppressors understand
Owooohhhooohooo! :)
Like many people I foolishly thought that at first that due to their power over us all and their usually scowling, grimly serious facial expressions that they were just under the FBI in stature.
Then I heard they are similar to postal employees or DMV workers——many times bored and inattentive, poorly educated, low skilled (mostly), and low level in status in government work. Many hired for affirmative action reasons like post office has to do.
Must be why the secret test case attempts to see if they would have caught terrorist smuggling of weapons almost always went right past them.
Everyone wants their 15 minutes of fame and they don’t care how they get it, even if it’s from hearsay testimony. Where are her witnesses? Did anyone bother to ask her before this went public? The place for her complaint is in a suit in the courts where it would get thrown out for lack of evidence — not in social media.
If half the time you boarded a plane it was out of Newark you might not be as fond of the TSA people. :)
Oh, another immigrant from central asia.
looking for publicity and some money.....
“It might be safe to say that most women dont appreciate the phrase giddy up in any context.”
It all depends upon the cowboy.
(-:
If I spent ANY time in Newark, Id become a miserable person.
I used to visit there quite a bit on business trips and it was my #1 destination for no desire to have to set foot in the town.
She might be lucky the guy did throw a leg over her and spur her to the gate.
I bet nothing would have been made of this if it was any other ethnicity then white....count on it.....
crybaby snow flake......
I have steel in my knees which allows TSA to grope me. I hate flying.
Thanks, I resemble that remark.
