My understanding is they have to pass the Senate - what are the chances people in VA? I say prepare for the worst - what will we do? Passive or active resistance?

I don’t know what the participation rate was. Although I do know that Conservative/GOP motivated voters is below where it ought to be. Too many nutters turned out in 2018/19, but because of the gerrymandering in VA, you’d have had to have a disproportionately higher % of GOP voters to have prevented the gerrymander from working in key districts that narrowly “elected” Dems.

Because it is an unconstitutional law passed by Democrats.

You may as well arrest me for rape. I’ve got all the equipment for that, too.

Tell that to VA, I’m in opposition to that stupidity.

Yet we’ve seen ostensible conservatives/Republicans in VA tell everyone for years that the radar detector ban was a good thing and should not be repealed. To be fair, people do try to get it repealed there, but even when the Republicans had total control, they came up with BS reasons to not repeal it at the last second.

Any state doing stupid things like that, you know they’re going to go for a gun ban eventually. And then the VA Republican leadership will defend it for decades.

Texas got it right in 1836.

“It has demanded us to deliver up our arms, which are essential to our defence, the rightful property of freemen, and formidable only to tyrannical governments.”

“...TYRANNICAL GOVERNMENTS.”

The Virginia GOP is pathetic. Painfully unprepared, unmotivated, and shamelessly lackadaisical leadership.

You forgot greedy, nepotistic, incestuous, corrupt and cynical.

Remember kids, the VA GOP will get way more money if they’re not in power and they keep begging for ‘just a little more money and we can defeat the evil Democrat’s’ while having zero intention to do anything like that whatsoever.

I looked this up prior to the 2019 elections.
Virginia’s population breakdown:
DC/Arlington/Alexandria Metroplex = 6.1 million (6,246 square miles)
Rest of the state = 4.6 million (36,509 square miles)
The link below has some good maps showing the new districts.

Since active resistance would be shooting those who passed this regulation, you probably should start with passive. Work your way up to active only if forced to do so.

Ditto

“I recommend lawfare; use their methods against them. 30 seconds after the bill is signed, NRA, GOA, and as many VA Freepers as are lawyers each file for injunctions in friendly court venues.”
