Successful black prosecutors from across the country came to St. Louis for a rally outside Carnahan Courthouse in support of embattled St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner.
The prosecutors joined local leaders and Gardner supporters in a show of solidarity and a protest. They said the circuit attorney is being mistreated by the powers that be.
"You are not alone," said Baltimore City States Attorney Marilyn Mosby. "We will not stand idly by any longer while the keepers of the status quo try to tear you down."
On Monday, Gardner filed what she called an unprecedented federal civil rights lawsuit, accusing the city, the local police union and others of a coordinated and racist conspiracy aimed at forcing her out of office. The city's elected prosecutor also accused "entrenched interests" of intentionally impeding her efforts to reform racist practices that have led to a loss of trust in the criminal justice system.
"Black women have been elected as prosecutors and bring new and fresh thoughts and ideas that have been lacking in the pursuit of justice in public safety, but this is what justice looks like," said prosecutor Aramis Ayala, Ninth Judicial Circuit Court of Florida.

“Ninth Judicial Circuit Court of Florida.”
I thought the 9th was out west. Am I missing something?
Anyone else notice that Property crimes are also being “reformed”?
Shoplifting, petty theft, trespassing, etc.
Private Property Rights are the cornerstone of Liberty.
Doesn’t it look like that this country is turning into Gothom City? Need the Batman light!
It’s all part of the shtruggle.
The Federal 9th District is out west, this must be a state court. Some states have circuit courts. Dont know if they really function that way, it may be just nomenclature at this point.
“Successful black prosecutors...”
St Louis has recently gained the reputation being relatively crime-free where people of all races peacefully commingle. Oh wait. Business Insider rates STL as the 7th most dangerous city in America with 35 murders, 62 forcible rapes and 558 robberies per 100,000. I wonder if any of the “successful black prosecutors” have done much for their cities besides getting their names in the paper.
But people deserve to get what they voted for good and hard.
That's their definition of success.
Sounds like a plan to me. Build a wall around the cities and let them have at it. Police should stand down and show up afterwards with the yellow tape. Why should they risk their lives for people who hate them? That includes the attorneys general in these cities.
