In the second half of Devin Nunes interview with Maria Bartiromo today he was asked his thoughts about the FISA Court selecting David Kris as an FBI surveillance and compliance monitor. The issue is quite important because the FBI FISA reforms and promises are essentially meaningless without some form of structural review process. However, the new 2020 FISC Presiding Judge James Boasberg selecting David Kris has been noted by several people as a rather weak effort on behalf of the court.
As an outcome of our former FISA-702 reviews CTH has an entirely different reason for questioning the selection of Kris; theres much more substantive reasons to be alarmed about it; but first heres the general consensus opposition:
_________
WASHINGTON The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) has stunned court-watchers by selecting David Kris a former Obama administration lawyer who has appeared on The Rachel Maddow Show and written extensively in support of the FBIs surveillance practices on the left-wing blog Lawfare to oversee the FBIs implementation of reforms in the wake of a damning Department of Justice inspector general report last year.
[ ] Of all the people in the swamp this is the guy that you come up with? Nunes asked. The guy that was accusing me of federal crimes? The guy that was defending the dirty cops at the FBI? The court must be trying to abolish itself. There is long-term damage.
President Trump then referenced Nunes interview with Bartiromo on Twitter on Sunday afternoon, calling Kris highly controversial and slamming the FISCs decision. (read more)

“FISC and judges were in on the co-conspiracy to take Trump out. They had to be”.
I strongly agree and have maintained the same - from the beginning. If we can figure this out quickly from day one, why is this allowed to drag on and on?
We cannot trust Justice Roberts, that is for sure.
What’s next, Jim Comey coming back to oversee policy changes in the FBI?
How do you beat this folks,it’s all rigged, nice and lega! To spy on your opponents
________
Good question.
I'm 73 and not feeling so well. For a while now I thought I might get lucky and live long enough to see this swamp drained by the great, tireless efforts of Donald J. Trump.
He has done more than anyone could have expected. But it is beginning to look like D.C. is going to be an eternal foul sewer loaded with mostly wicked, very damaged amoral human beings.
Life can be a little depressing, but then there are ......
.... to cheer us up.

I swear that I searched Google for well over ten minutes and could not find one major government program that was ended.
I did however find this absurd summation of the problem:
"Abstract
The problem of how to terminate outdated or ineffective policies, programs or organizations is increasingly important.
But the termination of public organizations, policies and programs has usually been neglected by policy researchers. This paper is intended to explore why the ending of policy is so tough that few case is reported in practice. The main reasons for the longevity of government organizations and policies are as follows: intellectual reluctance, institutional permanence, antitermination coalition, legal obstacle, high start-up costs, pressure from public opinion, influence of interest groups, incrementalism at work, dynamic conservatism and so on. In the second part, some general strategies for making the termination option more available are suggested."

Gobblelegook ....... LOL!
If you take down the FISA court, do you think the DS will stop spying on us?
Nope. But it's crazy to spend millions of dollars to create a fiction/pretend that they are respecting privacy.
Snooping will continue to the extent technology and practical considerations allow. Consider that the so-called "abuse" is looking at data that has already been collected. The rationale is that if they collect it, but don't look at it, it isn't snooping.
FISA exists mostly to BE a sham. It never was a serious "snoop control" system. It was a narrative control, public perception control effort. Even now we have congresspeople all huffy about protecting privacy, and "if they can do this to carter Page" nonsense. Well, they can, and the law was never and never will be a deterrent. It's naive to think laws control lawless people.
And the government has long demonstrated, by its actions, contempt for our "federal government has limited powers" constitution.
Well said.
This "checks and balances" thing is useless when all three branches are aligned in self-serving. Sure, they battle each other for power - power over the public.
Never lose sight that the courts are hostile to the right to keep and bear arms. That tells you all you need to know about how the ENTIRE government views the public. Us vs. them baby.
B I N G O, B O N G O, B A N G O. We knew the Patriot act was so named because it didn’t have anything to do with Patriotism, and now the proof just keeps on keeping on.
Anyone have any trust whatsoever in the FBI, or any other Federal law enforcement agency?
I didn’t think so.
Agreed,Im 70 feel pretty much the same,my grandchildren Im afraid are going to see some nasty happenings
I agree. Even if Nunes forces the FISA court to appoint an “Advocate” who is not a leftist fanatic, what real power would that person/office have?
Maybe FISC will replace Kris with Sally Yates.
