The US Navy said a Russian navy ship "aggressively approached" its destroyer in the Arabian Sea on Thursday while it was conducting routine operations.

I’ve heard from Navy guys that this sort of shit happens so much they have a name for it. the “Crazy Ivan”.
They wanted coal for their ship but we told them we don’t use coal any more; they got mad.
Dang! What was that about?
We don’t have a great record....so I’ll wait out some kind of official report.
The Russians are like punks loitering in a shopping mall who stand together and deliberately push a shoulder against a decent shopper walking past them.
Keeps his temper or fights the punk.
Management: courageously fight the punks or meekly gives in to PC and loses the mall as decent shoppers abandon the place one by one. “A lot of shopping online these days. That must be it.”
Trump may or may not turn the other cheek forever.
Yeah some ex navy guys here said that happens quite a bit with the russkies.
Yeah, like a U.S. naval ship colliding with another ship is news.
Stand your ground and Let them hit you on video. Send Putin the bill for repair. He can’t afford it.
I have some coal. We have lots of coal in West Virginia.
When I read 5 warning blasts, I had something else in mind than what was on the video.
The odd thing is that it was an electronic spy ship. Those are usually so expensive and fragile that they don’t dare tangle with real warships. I wonder if the U.S. destroyer, the Farragut, was illuminating it with radar, or otherwise interfering with its mission. Or better yet, burning out the front end of its sensors.
If the Russians didn’t have spy ships tagging along with U.S. carrier task groups, they wouldn’t be doing their jobs. But how much SIGINT can you collect playing tag with a ship with five times your displacement and blowtorch level ERP (effective radiated power)?
Yeah, the women running our ship must have all been talking to one another that day.
We dont have a great record....so Ill wait out some kind of official report.
Yeah...the way our inclusive Navy has piloted some warships, well...
Whats the difference between aggressively approaching and prudently altering course to avoid collision?
It appears to me that the US ship was in the lead, no collision was eminent, both vessels were well manned, maintained and under competent professional control. The five short blasts were given to convey that the sending vessel did not understand the intentions of the other. Attention to the situation was acted upon and absolutely no incident of importance occurred.
Some “Rules of the Road” scholar gotta ‘splain this one.
Misleading headline from BBC. Should have said that Russian ship nearly collided with Americans.
With you on that.
“A Russian warship almost intentionally rammed a US warship in the Arabian Sea”
There, I fixed it.
McHale got command of a Russian ship? I always figured he was a plant.
You all Americans best watch out or the Russians may send out their Air Craft Carrier as an intimidation action.
Oh, wait a minute, it is at dock and lately has been reported to be on fire.
Never mind.
