Pelosi set to send impeachment articles to the Senate next week

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Friday that she expects to send the articles of impeachment against President Trump over to the Senate next week to launch his long-awaited trial.

The move comes more than three weeks after the House passed two articles of impeachment against Trump over his dealings with Ukraine, and amid increasing pressure on the Speaker to drop her hold on the articles.

"I have asked Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler to be prepared to bring to the Floor next week a resolution to appoint managers and transmit articles of impeachment to the Senate," Pelosi wrote in a letter to Democrats.

I think she didnt want to postpone the dem debate next Tuesday (not that anyone are watching those any more).

Unfortunately, I saw Susan Collins is working with a small group of senators to ensure witnesses can be called. That will turn it into another circus, and drag it out.

Watch now, as she convinces the House Democrats to vote as a block to shoot down the resolution to transmit the Articles

She’s not done defiling herself and the Party yet

Many repubs have stated no “sending” is required.

Just hold the vote in the Senate now. Today.

Many misleading headlines regarding this story. All she said was that Nadler should prepare . . . .
Excerpt:
“I have asked Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler [D-N.Y.] to be prepared to bring to the Floor next week a resolution to appoint managers and transmit articles of impeachment to the Senate,” Pelosi wrote in a letter to Democrats.

“I will be consulting with you at our Tuesday House Democratic Caucus meeting on how we proceed further,” she added.

The articles get sent.

After the Senate takes it up, then you send the managers.

I think she's still trying to be clever.

I looked at the Congressional Record for the night that the House impeached Clinton. That night, after they passed the articles of Impeachment, they passed another resolution to appoint managers, to encumber funds for staff for the managers, and to transmit the articles to the senate.

House Dems must realize their specious impeachment articles will fail to convict Trump in the Republican Senate......

Yet they cling to a vain hope that impeachment alone is enough to seriously damage Trump’s reelection bid.

Democrats, as well as some Republicans, cannot accept a Trump presidency, gained in a legitimate election.

Dems have been working assiduously for three years to find some means to impeach and remove Trump.

Even as peripatetic Nanzi hopscotched all over TV denying impeachment was in the offing.

The airheaded Dems promulgated:
<><> the myth of “Russian collusion”... ultimately blown out of the water,
<><> the equally unfounded Ukrainian “quid pro quo” charge.
<><> the sideshow of withholding the articles from the Senate,
<><> demanding a fair trial FOR THEMSELVES,
<><> Dems stupidity oblivious that in America fair trials are guaranteed the accused NOT THE accuser.

Now Dems slipped in an addition joker in their already stacked impeachment deck, namely the remote possibility
predicated on a long-ago law, not allowing Trump to take office even if he is reelected. It is indeed a
crass partisan maneuver that would cause the Founders to spin in their graves.

I say go for it, dummy Dems......but you ignore the presence of Mitch McConnell at your peril.

I. Whensoever the Senate shall receive notice from the
House of Representatives that managers are appointed on
their part to conduct an impeachment against any person
and are directed to carry articles of impeachment to the
Senate, the Secretary of the Senate shall immediately inform the House of Representatives that the Senate is ready
to receive the managers for the purpose of exhibiting such
articles of impeachment, agreeably to such notice.

II. When the managers of an impeachment shall be intro-
duced at the bar of the Senate and shall signify that they
are ready to exhibit articles of impeachment against any
person, the Presiding Officer of the Senate shall direct the
Sergeant at Arms to make proclamation, who shall, after
making proclamation, repeat the following words, viz: ‘‘All
persons are commanded to keep silence, on pain of imprisonment, while the House of Representatives is exhibiting
to the Senate of the United States articles of impeachment
against ——— ———’’; after which the articles shall be
exhibited, and then the Presiding Officer of the Senate
shall inform the managers that the Senate will take proper
order on the subject of the impeachment, of which due notice shall be given to the House of Representatives.

III. Upon such articles being presented to the Senate,
the Senate shall, at 1 o’clock afternoon of the day (Sunday
excepted) following such presentation, or sooner if ordered
by the Senate, proceed to the consideration of such articles
and shall continue in session from day to day (Sundays
excepted) after the trial shall commence (unless otherwise
ordered by the Senate) until final judgment shall be rendered, and so much longer as may, in its judgment, be
needful. Before proceeding to the consideration of the articles of impeachment, the Presiding Officer shall administer the oath hereinafter provided to the members of the Senate
then present and to the other members of the Senate as
they shall appear, whose duty it shall be to take the same.

I wonder if she is trying to make the trial to be ongoing on January 20 so the Rats can cause major trouble at the 2A demonstration in Richmond, VA on January 20th? There will be thousands of patriots there that day and a lot of state and, probably, Federal law enforcement there that day. Dem proxies could cause great violence or even conduct a false flag operation that they would then blame on Trump.

Remember, impeachment was so urgent, it could not wait for the voters to vote him out but it was not urgent enough to sit on 3-4 weeks while Pelosi tried to bully McConnell.

Pelosi said she couldn’t appoint the managers until she knew what the Senate was going to run the trial.
