The most amazing thing is that it is only 75%. If they had California like weather, it would be closer to 90%.

Years ago, I did a research paper showing there was a supply curve for poverty which I turned in both to an economics professor and sociology professor to fill a semester end requirement. The econ professor thought it was brilliant. The sociology professor was angry but had to give me a good grade because the evidence was all there.
I'll never forget the two nearly opposite reactions to exactly the same paper.
Liberalism seems to have no clue about reality
Just a few miles up the highway from me. Actually, Middletown has been a place to avoid for decades.

This is happening in Portland Me and turning what was once a nice small city into a pit.
Attended Ohio University, Athens, OH for Social Work. Grew up poor and thought I could help with the skills I had. While interning, I realized that Social Work was an industry set up to create a need so they can keep their government jobs not to actually help people. There was little if any attempts to teach self sufficiency to those could benefit.
Progressives continually stunned by instances of predictable human nature and obvious outcomes.

They’re adult children with big egos. They believe reality will conform to their desires because...well...because it just should.
My small town of 11K is having a homeless problem and the local liberal riff-raff are pushing the same insane solutions the Democrat big cities push. They are meeting with opposition for the most part. Needle exchange programs are meeting fierce resistance from the population because they are tired of dealing with the problems the homeless cause.
My Dad has cleared leather twice in the last year on homeless who he has caught sneaking into his business storage area. He didn’t shoot, but got the “oh sh*t!” response when they turned to see the business end of a Glock 19 pointed at their heads. One actually tried to tell him he was visiting his friend in the apartment on the third floor, except there are no apartments in the building. He was escorted out at gun point like the other one with the warning, I catch you in here again they will carry you out, there will be no more warnings or mercy and they haven’t returned.
In the winter the police get at least one or two calls a week where a homeless person has found an exterior crawl space and they go under someone’s home to get out of the elements. A Family Dollar in the down town has them sneaking on the roof sleeping, shooting up, crapping everywhere. People are fed up with them and starting to get fed up with the do-gooders as well.
Most people here have a relative or friend that is hooked on drugs or has mental issues and have come to learn for the drugs tough love is the solution and that the mental health laws are an abomination an crime and they know if you start feeding a stray dog, they will come and they will bring friends and stay.
Middletown, Ohio is an old steel mill town [AK Steel]. Was always a town of hard working blue collar guys who made a decent living at the mill. Lot of truck drivers hauling steel were from Middletown. Really surprised that the working people of Middletown are putting up with these lazy bums camping out on streets.

BINGO. I still remember the homeys’ laughing when I was on a smoke break, and they were “boasting” their section 8 apartment had wifi.
Another note? I have NEVER EVER SEEN any Asian nor mexican at these homeless shelters during my internship. It’s mostly blacks and 10% white..
The major I got accepted was Mass Communication. I planned to change to Business Management and took the minimum pre reqs’ to transfer. One of my classmates for this idiotic Literature class was Andrew Luck and everyone was surprised he showed up for this class. It must be the girls because they were surprisingly hot..
If you subsidize something you get more of it.
Simple economics.

They just don't want to work. They think they are the ultimate of free, yet they can't see they depend on BAD society to provide them more than their tents/tarps on the sidewalks. Yeah, freedom is smelling and living in your own urine and feces. F*ck these BUMS. I don't give a rat's ass anymore about the homeless, other than the mentally ill and Vets.
Is this the town Joe Burrow solicited donations for, or was that a similar OH town?
It has been established that DeBlasio has sent NYC homeless to as many as 373 different cities & has paid their rent for a year in advance to go there. TAXPAYER MONEY.
Joe Burrow is from Athens, Ohio - which is the Southeastern corner of the state. Middletown is between Dayton and Cincinnati.
