I love soy beverages personally but by FDA definitions anything but cows milk cannot meet the legal standard, including goats & sheep, etc. Various industries are going to have to work this out before clean meat comes to market.

The only other equal-shock would be if Nestles Chocolate were to go bankrupt too. That would never happen, right?
I don't know if you are being tongue-in-cheek, but Nestle sold its U.S. candy bars (Crunch, Butterfinger, Baby Ruth, etc.).

Oh no! Is nothing sacred?
Well, you know who’s enjoying this?
Hershey’s Chocolate, that’s who!
In this Bay Area, we also have
Ghirardelli and Sees chocolate.

Our local regional dairy cut about 50 dairy farms loose last year and cut their work force in half citing lack of milk sales.

Sounds like they need to diversify. So many alternatives they could get into the business of. Rice milk.. Flax milk. Coconut milk. Almond milk. Cashew milk. Oat milk. Pea milk. Soy milk.

Once the FDA changed the rules to allow for something to be labeled "Fat-Free Ice Cream" and "Fat-Free Half & Half", I don't take the labeling seriously anymore.

Flummoxed! I didn’t know.
Makes you want to sing “Bye Bye Miss American Pie”, or something.

LOL!
And I thought I made up that name when I saw it in the store!

I wonder how this is going to churn the dairy farmers that they use for product.

The dog is probably doing what he has seen the farmer do when a cow leaves the barn alone. Many farm or ranch dogs somehow learn the rules and the system. Enforcing the system then becomes their #1 job. Ask any Border Collie why they do it?

We are now down to two candy bar companies with any clout, Hershey and Mars, Inc. with bit players Tootsie and Pearson.
Gone are Curtiss (Baby Ruth), Leaf (Whoppers, Heath), Hollywood (Milkshake), NECCO (New England Candy & Confection Co.)(Wafers, Clark), Peter Paul (Almond Joy), Bonomo (Turkish Taffy), Ward (Chunky, Raisinets). Most have been absorbed by the oligopoly that remains.

Sam Dean, the late millionaire founder of the the Illinois-based Dean dairy empire, was a good friend of mine. He was a solid conservative Republican...a great guy...and he was a generous contributor to my campaigns when I was public office in our county.
When he passed away, I knew his company would also permanently pass on sooner or later because of the the nature of his heirs which I won't go into.
Dean's products were top-notch...and I shall sorely miss their french onion dip!
