Ron Howard slammed President Trump on Wednesday as a self-serving, dishonest, morally bankrupt egomaniac who doesnt care about anything or anyone but his fame and bank account.
The acclaimed director of hit films like Apollo 13 and A Beautiful Mind blasted the president on Twitter while accusing him of hustling the United States.

The Donald acted to defend America from Islamic terrorists. For this act, he will be rewarded with political popularity. It is to the latter that Hollywood objects so strenuously.
Pound sand Opie.
Sit on it, Richie!
Hollywoods rich and famous are that because of their make-believe activities. Being directed to act as someone else, then becoming famous for pretending to be someone else, or for directing others pretend activities. And get filthy rich for it.
They know their fortunes are from make-believe. And most athletes fortunes are from playing a game with a ball.
No wonder so many actors and athletes desire to be known for something real, and punditry is easy, with fast feedback.
After the ad backing Obama, I couldnt even watch any reruns of Andy Griffin shows
Ron please, we already knew you were all that. You did not have to projectile vomit your faults. Lol.
Aw, Com’on, Richie Cunningham, or Opie Taylor, or whoever you are under that ball cap, show a little compassion for a guy who has “made it” in life. Donald J. Trump came from humble beginnings in a millionaire family, and by his own bootstraps and plenty of gumption, parlayed it into the vast real estate empire and holdings valued in the billions he now has title to.
Fact is, he is essentially LOSING money while serving as President, and donates his paycheck every quarter.
Lost my enthusiasm for The Andy Griffith Show when that happened.
Hey Opie, eat my dust!
Anthony Hopkins on Why He Doesn’t Talk About Politics: ‘Actors Are Pretty Stupid’
In a conversation with fellow actor Brad Pitt for a lengthy chat for Interview magazine, Anthony Hopkins explained why he seldom — actually: never — talks about politics... and why he’s not a big fan of other actors talking about politics either. In short: “Actors are pretty stupid.”
“People ask me questions about present situations in life, and I say, I dont know, Im just an actor,’” Hopkins told Pitt. “ I dont have any opinions. Actors are pretty stupid. My opinion is not worth anything. Theres no controversy for me, so dont engage me in it, because Im not going to participate.”

There seems to have been an actual decline in rational thinking. The United States had become a place where entertainers like De Niro/the zero and professional athletes were mistaken for people of importance.
They were idolized and treated as leaders; their opinions were sought on everything and they took themselves just as seriously after all, if an athlete is paid a million or more a year, he knows he is important so his opinions of foreign affairs and domestic policies must be important, too, even though he proves himself to be both ignorant and subliterate every time he opens his mouth. (Most of his fans were just as ignorant and unlettered; the disease was spreading.)
Robert A. Heinlein, To Sail Beyond the Sunset
I agree - it was a complete puke-fest
Same here - used to like him - gave up on him after that.
His Obamascare ad double-sealed it for me.
Be quiet Opie, the grown ups are talking.
Please please please just another 15 minutes of fame? Oh please please PLEASE?!?!
It was his appointed time to keep up the smears. What is the frequency now, about one “star” a week?
Ron Howard just turned a whole lot of people against him. He is now a Hollywood slob!
If Howard really supported him, he is clearly no expert on "moral bankruptcy." What a sick joke!
All he is missing is the round red nose.
Awww, Leon! There’s a really cute picture of him somewhere dressed in his cowboy gear and standing in a doorway.
