Trump explains why Iran’s top general Qassem Soleimani had to die

President Trump reacted Friday to the US airstrike that killed a top Iranian general and others by tweeting that “Iran never won a war, but never lost a negotiation.” Enlarge Image Qassem SoleimaniQassem SoleimaniAP

It wasn’t immediately clear what the president meant by the tweet, though it appeared to be a dig at former President Obama for the nuclear deal he negotiated with Tehran.

Trump later said that Gen. Qassem Soleimani, the head of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps-Quds Force, “has killed or badly wounded thousands of Americans over an extended period of time, and was plotting to kill many more…but got caught!”

He added that the top Iranian commander “was directly and indirectly responsible for the death of millions of people, including the recent large number of PROTESTERS killed in Iran itself.

“While Iran will never be able to properly admit it, Soleimani was both hated and feared within the country. They are not nearly as saddened as the leaders will let the outside world believe. He should have been taken out many years ago!” he added, using another spelling for the general.

John Wayne, American Hero said it best:

Some men need killin'.
There are animals and tyrants among us. Rooster Cogburn explained it to Matty Ross: "Lil Sister, there ain't no reasonin' with a rat. You either have to leave him be, or kill him."

The guy left Iran and went to Iraq to attack our people.

The only thing wrong with killing him is that we can’t kill him again.

I am surprised that Soleimani was so careless as to be moving about in broad daylight in an area where US airpower controls the sky.

One wonders if his death might be convenient for the Iranian clerics in their efforts to stay at the helm of government..

Eight years of Obama's cowardice and funding your terror will make you lose your edge I suppose.

An American airstrike on Baghdad airport has killed Qassem Soleimani, the head of Iran's powerful Quds force, and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the deputy-leader of Iraq's Popular Mobilization Forces (pictured, the burning remains of a car that was among a convoy the men had been traveling in)

What does it say that an Iranian General was so comfortable and 'secure' in Iraq?

The same Iraq that did nothing to stop the Iranian militias from attacking the US Embassy.

Some might say that Iran is running Iraq.

A massive funeral with thousands all dressed in black lined the streets of Revolutionary Guard General Qassem Soleimani's hometown of Kerman in Iran today. The commander killed Friday in a US strike, was one of the most popular figures in Iran and seen as a deadly adversary by America and its allies

The *slamic republic of iran is a state sponsor of terrorism. Killing one of their generals is a good action. They are crazy-a$$ savages.

As long as iran is under *slamic rule, it will be a $hithole.
