Richard Jewell, The Movie: Member of the Gun Culture
AmmoLand ^ | 31 December, 2019 | Dean Weingarten

Richard Jewell, the movie, shows Richard as a clear, unapologetic member of the American gun culture. I saw Clint Eastwood's latest movie, Richard Jewell, on Friday evening, December 27th, 2019, in Fort Worth, Texas.

I have been a Clint Eastwood fan for decades. His work as a director has been excellent. I highly recommend the movie.

The plot of what happened to Richard is well known, as the political leaks of the FBI, the legacy media, and the multi-million dollar settlement for the defamation of Richard Jewell, testifies. Jewell's name was leaked to the media. He was portrayed as the bomber in the legacy media, for months.

It is not as well known that Richard Jewell was a skilled shooter and marksman.

A few things, as revealed in the movie, show Jewell was a dedicated, disciplined, far above average shooter. The most obvious is when his mother casually mentions that while a deputy, Jewell shot a near-perfect score of 98 of 100 during qualification. That is a level of accomplishment that takes discipline and dedication to attain. Jewell's mother was proud of his accomplishment.

A retired police officer, firearms instructor, and talented shooter told me police fall into the 90-7-3 rule. 90% of police officers see the gun as a necessity of the job. They are not interested in shooting and do the minimum to qualify.  7% are interested, take the training seriously, and do some work on their own to become competent, above-average shooters. 3% are dedicated, disciplined shooters who work at keeping and improving their skills. They read books on the subject, train consistently, and are top-notch shooters. They are gunfighters. The 98% score puts Richard Jewell in the 3%.

My experience is similar to the retired police officer/firearms instructor, colored by the predominance of Border Patrol officers while teaching

Great movie.

Interesting, when I was paying for my ticket and popcorn, I asked the man working the cash register if he saw the movie and if good. Just to gauge his observations. He said he hadn’t seen any there, but that is the ONLY movie he would see there. He was a supporter, no doubt about it.

Appears to be “appendix carry” or some such inside the waist ban mode...Discharges when he bends at the waste...

Suggests to me some interference between garments and trigger...

Never considered this type of carry, covert as it is, a good idea for anyone wishing to remain intact...

To be honest with you, I’m not so sure that Eric Rudolph did any of the crimes that he was accused of committing.

Given that this happened when Bill Clinton was in office, I would not put it past him and the people around him, especially Hilliary, that Eric Rudolph was framed in an attempt to propangize the people against conservative Christians and conservatives in general, and especially the pro life movement.

90-7-3 rule

I’d agree with that, most law enforcement officers are worse shooters than the average off the street guy. The ones that are good were good because they are ‘gun guys’ by nature.

It’s very clear the FBeye, Mueller, media, and US House of Representatives Hateocrat impeachment process ‘Richard Jewelled’ president Trump’s campaign, and first term. Nothing has changed. And the President should recognize that if he uses this term....that he has been ‘Richard Jewelled’ and repeatedly says so then it will bring light to help better explain what happened then and now to the pop movie goer culture. He needs to use this!! Plus it will help help fill seats to a very well deserving movie. Trump can be the best commercial for this move and it will help him too.

Imo, they targeted him because he was an easy mark...... ......and because he was overweight, eager to please and wouldn’t fight back....

And a whopping taint of anti-Southern disdain, as well.

That TV show was superb 1960s propaganda.

The FBI was born with a lie (the supposed “crime wave” of the 1930s), and has always been a lawless, political operation.

I’m sure there are excellent, dedicated FBI agents. But I don’t think too many of them have ever been in charge of anything.

) I believe you are on the mark.

I have met a number of FBI agents. They are high grade, dedicated, professionals, for the most part.

But the FBI has always been very political. They have not been all that concerned with the Bill of Rights, when politics were involved.

In political cases (including any case with significant media involvement), they have always put the FBI reputation ahead of "rights" and the rule of law.

The tone is set from above.

“We are the good guys, therefore whatever we do to get the bad guys is justified.”

Not good.

Today was the last day it was playing in my area, so I went to see it to support Clint Eastwood — and also because it sounded interesting since I vaguely remember when it happened. I thought the movie was very good. Someone on another post said it was a little slow towards the end, but I didn’t think so. What that family went through was a crying shame. The story also teaches a good lesson — if the FBI approaches you about anything, don’t talk to them and get a good lawyer, because they won’t tell you that you are a suspect — like what happened to President Trump and General Flynn.

After watching that movie, I believe more than ever that we need to padlock the FBI. And the same goes for the CIA, the IRS and the BATF.

Fully holstered? It looks to me like he just shoved it down his pants like some moronic gangta to the point where I immediately knew it was going to discharge. Is that video even real? Even if he has some holster down there, what kind of idiot puts in right above his dick?
