Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez could soon be out of her government job. Due to the high number of non-citizens in her district, it might be eliminated after the census.

Wouldn’t that be ironic?

If her district were eliminated in redistricting, with the territory split among other districts, she would run against one of the incumbent Democrats to try to stay in Congress.

So while she might see her current district go away, she could still get elected in a new district.

And would anyone be shocked, to see her try to run for Chuck Schumer’s Senate seat in 2022? I have a feeling that Chuck is not liberal enough to suit her, and a young whipper snapper such as Ocasio-Cortez probably agrees with Obama, that too many old men don’t get out of the way in our politics.

Which begs the obvious question:

If the Democrats control the redistricting process in New York, and the state is likely to lose one House seat after 2020, then why would anyone expect the Democrats to eliminate a Democratic House district?
