In the world of black entertainment, there was a group of theaters known as the Chitlin Circuit. Moms Mabley, Pigmeat Markham and other black vaudeville acts worked these theaters because their acts could not play the Orpheum or other white vaudeville circuits. This bawdy act worked the Chitlin Circuit for much of the 1920s. This is from 1925 and is deliciously naughty.

It takes tremendous talent to pull off something convincing like that. Jo Stafford was a legend in the 1940s, and her husband was one of the great arrangers of his era. It’s astonishing! The parties where Jo and Paul entertained the guests must have been side-splitting.

We had to go take care of some business so didn't do any lake activity yesterday but we will do Comanche Lake later today.

I have to go to outpatient tomorrow morning for a blood draw for my doctor's appointment and check up next week.

Nice weather here yesterday. More nice weather today. The mail man is off so I can let Gizmo stay outside.

I will no doubt burn in Heck for this. (In Heck, it’s not the Lake of Fire, just the Puddle of Fire, and sometimes they don’t even bother to light the gasoline.) This is from 1967, filmed at a live concert in Copenhagen. Lehrer liked to close his concerts with this little number written for TW3.
