How you can help with lobbying the General Assembly starting on January 8, 2020
While VCDL Lobby Day is on Monday, January 20, 2020, VCDL will actually be busy lobbying the General Assembly from the first day of the session, which is January 8 this year, to the last day that any gun bills are being considered. This is what we do every year and nothing is any different this year.
The third Monday in January is VCDL Lobby Day every year. That date is picked because it is a federal holiday, which allows more gun owners to be able to come to Richmond to lobby their legislators in person and in very large numbers. We also have our annual Lobby Day rally at 11 am that day.
I will need a team of gun owners to help me lobby each weekday, except Fridays, starting on Wednesday, January 8
Bob Sadtler, who is usually my right hand man for lobbying, cannot make it to the General Assembly very often this year, unfortunately. So I am looking to have a team of people help me with VCDL's daily lobbying efforts. If you are retired, or can take a day off work every now and then, and want to help, contact me at president@vcdl.org and I'll add you to the a team. Each day I will advise what time I need the team members to show up for the next day's lobbying efforts. Team members will then meet me at the General Assembly building on that day's scheduled time, whenever they are able to do so. I'm not asking anyone to commit to coming every day, but the more you can come, the better.
The NRA has announced they will have a Lobby Day on Monday, January 13 (without a rally). That day we will be complementing each other's efforts to stop gun control in its tracks. The more people lobbying their legislators, the better!
VCDL will also need "Minutemen" who can provide large turnouts on short notice whenever a gun bill is being heard in a subcommittee or a committee
We need as many of you as possible to act as Minutemen! Usually with about one day's notice, I will be calling members to show up at a hearing and flood the room with people wearing Guns Save Lives stickers! Get there early, as the other side will be trying to do the same. We really need eye-popping numbers of people to show up! This is where the rubber-meets-the-road, folks! Whether it is before, during, or after Lobby Day, we must keep up the pressure in committees and subcommittees.
Be prepared to melt down the phones at the General Assembly and to flood their email in-boxes!
In a little over a week, we will be asking each of you to start contacting your legislators on the phone AND by email. We will ask you to do that each day from Monday through Thursday of each week until we say we no longer need to do that. THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY WILL BE HEARING OUR VOICES LOUD AND CLEAR!
Ping.

Im in, definitely for the 20 Jan rally, and likely more. Any other VA FReepers up for this?
Good Luck!
We’re behind you out in the hinterlands.
Engage citizen videographers to monitor the media and the police.
Have a website ready to receive the uploaded material.
The state and media are NOT your friends and should NOT be trusted.

1/20/2020 is a national holiday, Martin Luther King Jr. Day. This has the potential to turn into a real public relations disaster for the 2nd AS movement if attendees are no prepared. Gov. Babykiller has refocused his troubled governorship on racial equity and reconciliation in what amounts to an extended act of public contrition and atonement for past racial faux pas. The MSM will not let the coincidence of MLKJr. Day and the 2ndAS rally pass without forcibly connecting it to the Unite the Right Rally in Charlottesville, VA, during 8/11-12/2017.
Anyone planning to attend should consider identity security, e.g., dont park your car close by, wear hat/ sun glasses/ non-conspicuous clothing (even reversible)/ turn jacket collar up/ maybe even a face bandana. They will definitely be video recording the 2nd AS crowd and using facial recognition software to build a database of deplorables. Be prepared for physical altercations with opposition demonstrators. Wouldnt hurt to carry a couple bottles of water just in case to rinse tear gas. Maximum situation awareness because the LEOs will likely not protect you. Make sure bus parking zone is defended from saboteurs.
Start mailing them empty brass since they have an obsession with firearms.
Don’t leave any fingerprints or traceable mail. They are looking to create an inital target list. Unless stopped by quick court action, Northam is intending to move out quickly and create incidents and examples to intimidate the rest of the population IMO.
