US embassy staff and the US ambassador in Baghdad have been evacuated, according to two unnamed Iraqi Foreign Ministry officials cited by Reuters, as hundreds of Iraqi protesters swam the embassy compound.
Iraqi supporters of a powerful Iranian-backed militia were attacking the outside of the fortified zone that surrounds the US embassy compound in Baghdad, protesting against American air strikes that killed 25 fighters from the group, news agencies reported.
A) Saddam wasn't nice.
B) What's between Iraq and Israel is between Iraq and Israel
C) No, he didn't "try to blow up the WTC", that was Saudi Arabia.
No, the problem is democracy.
It is popular revolutions that put the mullahs and the Taliban in place.

What is being witnessed are the dying throes of progressive, globalist causes.
On all fronts now.
And how far would you go to defend this "right to exist"?
Does the United States have "a right to exist", instead of a "right to defend itself"?
Can you even define a "right to exist", and if you can, what authority oversees Israel's "right", or ours, for that matter?
OK, let's hear the war plan, the forces required, the probability of success, and the end state.
Oh yes, and let's have the inconvenient vote on a Declaration of War.
LOVE OUR PRESIDENT!

....Iran will be held fully responsible for lives lost, or damage incurred, at any of our facilities. They will pay a very BIG PRICE! This is not a Warning, it is a Threat. Happy New Year!

The U.S. Embassy in Iraq is, & has been for hours, SAFE! Many of our great Warfighters, together with the most lethal military equipment in the world, was immediately rushed to the site. Thank you to the President & Prime Minister of Iraq for their rapid response upon request....
> My prediction for the war after 9-11 <
Wow. Just wow. Your prediction there was so sensible and so correct, its scary. But suppose you had been a White House advisor at the time. If you had mentioned any of that to Bush, you would have been fired the very next day.
Side note: If you ever decide to start predicting lottery numbers, please let me know.
Have you not read in the past years the massive protests in Iran against the regine?
The most recent massive unrest started the first of this month and is still ongoing.
See NY Times December 1, 2019
With Brutal Crackdown, Iran Is Convulsed by Worst Unrest in 40 Years
Iran is boiling over, people there are fed up. But they have no weapons although one of the recent skirmishes outside Tehran had armed rebels.
Have you not heard President Trump say Iran is next after North Korea?
He’s not going to war with Iran, he doesn’t have to. He’s going to help the people free themselves.
Gulf War I can be defended. Saddam had just invaded and occupied a foreign country, Kuwait. Gulf War I was a response to his overt aggression.
But Gulf War II is an entirely different story. Gulf II was, at its core, a preventative war. It was fought to prevent Saddam from doing something in the future, once he got his so-called WMDs up and running.
Preventative wars are generally thought to be illegal wars. And for good reason. Because to think otherwise would make any war a legitimate war. For example, Russia could then legitimately invade Estonia to prevent Estonia from some day firing a missile at Moscow.
If someone wanted to argue that George W. Bush is a war criminal, I would not disagree.
I’m glad we have Trump . instead of that whore Clinton who let our people die. I do wish we had blown up the embassy with the Iran/ iraqi scum in it.
We should have used low-yield theater nukes on Bagdad, Tehran, Islamabad, Kabul, Mecca, and Medina on 9/12/01.
We would have been doing the muslim world AND the rest of the world, and ourselves a big favor.
It would be nice if the Congress could declare war. This AUF crap being passed like the naming of a post office has to stop.
War, and all the crap that comes with it should be considered more seriously than the way these fools approach impeachment.
Wondering if Pelosi is included in any of the conversations that are going about Iran! I bet she is not and she is steaming which I don’t give a care!
I read somewhere that one of Americas problems is that we won WW II too decisively. That great victory made the United States see itself as invincible. We could do anything. We would win any future conflict.
So there was no need to be cautious. There was no need to weigh all the pluses and minuses.
Korea and Vietnam should have broken that fanciful thinking. But it did not. It persists to this day.
And this feeds into your post. It is the job of Congress to be cautious, to weigh all the pluses and minuses. But since 1945 those cowards have abandoned their duty.
“Im so happy the Iraqis appreciate what we did freeing them from the rule of Saddam Hussein.”
Sorry, but every last country we’ve messed with over the past thirty years is now a hot mess.
A few dozen Willie Peter grenades and their smoking Hezbollah arses would be headed back to the Red Sea.
It takes BOTH the People (House) and the States (Senate) to do it, and this language is self-explanatory:
"the President is hereby authorized and directed to employ the entire naval and military forces of the United States and the resources of the Government to carry on war against the Imperial Government of Japan; and, to bring the conflict to a successful termination, all the resources of the country are hereby pledged by the Congress of the United States.
So Congress DIRECTS the President what to do, and Congress PLEDGES the resources to do it.
The results of foreign adventures when the People of the United States do NOT declare war should by now be obvious to anyone with eyes to see or ears to hear.
Could we do the things all these warmongers are clamoring for? Perhaps.
Could we do them without the People declaring war? Ridiculous.
“Trumps Benghazi.”
Hardly, Ambassador were staff evacuated not killed by a blood thirsty mob. Afterwords Obongo blamed it on a video no one saw.
