Anton "Tony" Wallace's daughter says she ran to her injured father
The daughter of one of two victims shot and killed Sunday morning at West Freeway Church of Christ is speaking out.
You dont think its going to hit home and the fact that it hit our home and someone that supports us and loves us and is our dad [is gone], thats what hurts the most, Tiffany Wallace said.
Wallace not only lost her father Anton Tony Wallace Sunday morning, but the 64-year-old was taken feet from her and in their house of worship.
It just happened so fast, she said.
Wallace was a husband, father, grandfather and a registered nurse.
He was also a deacon and lifelong member of West Freeway Church of Christ.
Wallace said her dad had just given out communion in the back of the church when she noticed a man shed never seen before approach him.
"The guy just stood up from the pew, turn toward my dad and I guess he shot at the security guard, she said.
Through the shots and chaos that ensued, she realized her dad had been hit.
I ran toward my dad and the last thing I remember is him asking for oxygen and I was just holding him, telling him I loved him and that he was going to make it, Wallace said.
He was rushed to the hospital, but it was too late.
You just wonder why? How can someone so evil, the devil, step into the church and do this, she said.
With few answers, the family can only remember the man who was steadfast in his faith and family.
He was amazing. He was a godly person and even when we talked about going to heaven he always said, 'Im always prepared,'" she said. But you never thought this would happen.
Yet even in her grief, the 32-year-old has found that forgiveness exists.
I forgive him [the gunman] and thats the hardest thing to say, she said.
Wallace has expressed gratitude for the armed church member who also serves as a security guard for the parish for bringing down the gunman.
He is a hero to me, she said. Im just glad everybodys OK. I know my dad is up there with his sister, his parents, in a wonderful place. Not in pain anymore Hes just in peace now. I know hes in good hands.
Wallace also wanted to thank a nurse who was present and ran to help the injured and the entire congregation for their support and prayers.
Daddy no!
Daddy no!
Daddy no!
God love her...that just breaks my heart and makes my eyes well up cant lie
Whew
We people have got to get back to where we institutionalize psychotic folks
Its not perfect but its better than this so called homeless crisis and nuts killing people for no reason.
Today you cannot commit someone against their will baring them being a threat which by then its too late
It looked to me like the murderer was aiming at the pastor when he was taken down.
true enough
I watched the video...Two innocent men were killed and the shooter was the third person killed...
It looked like he had long hair like a girl and maybe was trying to look like a girl... and then when he was shot it looked like the shot blew his scalp off, so a wig would explain all that.
Good point... this will stay with them Some pretty hard.
I started to think about it because I was wondering too.
Now, I don’t care to know, or I don’t want any information being shared unless it is critical.
I would far rather he be labeled “nobody”. He is nothing, not worth anything. Certainly, not someone anyone should be interested in or emulate. Let him disappear like dust.
I disagree. It’s a near lead pipe cinch that he was a democrat, probably on dope of one kind or another, with a massive background of cops repeatedly arresting him and courts ignoring him. The FBI probably cleared him for the gun purchase despite it all.
And without his identity, as citizens we cannot decide if government failed us yet again and hold people accountable. We also deserve the ability to defend ourselves against the Democrat/socialist move to disarm us. We get that by pointing out that crazed leftists are the danger and not the NRA.
As citizens we deserve to know all about him, and we have good legitimate reasons for knowing.
This secrecy is hiding something that we need to know.
“He is nothing, not worth anything. Certainly, not someone anyone should be interested in”
That’s just emotion. He’s not a nobody. He is a rich information source for we mere citizens. The hard cold fact is that he may represent a philosophy which should reap being discredited. (antifa, BLM, islam, resistance) Or say he is mentally ill, we as citizens should not be deprived of who to hold accountable for letting him walk around. Or he could be the son of a politician and has skipped out on crimes? Did government look at him and decide he passed a background check? Is he a long time FBI tipster and they always get him off the hook?
There are endless reasons a free citizenry has an absolute right to know every damned detail of his sordid life and the path that took him into that church. Only then can we try to hold those to blame for not stopping him accountable.
I really do understand all of that. I guess I just want him to be considered worthless by those who might consider him a hero to their cause. I would rather he be called Mr X, not his real name. Calling out his cohorts is a good idea. Tptb need to find out who, what, why etc.
murderer shot in head by FBI parishioner -
THAT is the FBI I admired as a kid
Thankful the killing was stopped. But so sorry for the two victims and their families.
Glad to hear it was an FBI agent parishioner it will be easier for this person to deal with having to kill someone!!! Although killing someone was necessary to protect others I would imagine it would not be easy for a person to deal with regardless!!! YES this is the FBI I remember also!!!
We must also remember it was a BP agent that saved lives in the Synagogue in Southern CA. by taking out the shooter THANK GOD these two gentlemen were armed in both of these instances!!!
At some point WE simply have to realize we ARE TPTB! There is no one else out there on our side except Trump.
The shooter was the 3rd to die. The two victims that he shot both died.
Her Dad was a Deacon, not a Reverend.
I don’t think there is a church in the area that doesn’t have armed security throughout the membership.
The other day I counted 7 men who were carrying. in a congregation of about 120
