THE HISTORY of U.S. politics is full of second chances — of scandal-scarred, disgraced and irredeemable public figures staging improbable comebacks — but few back-from-the-dead narratives have been as swift and sure-footed as the one Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam has managed this year.
Since Feb. 1, when the discovery of a racist photo on his medical school yearbook page dealt what seemed a lethal blow to his political career, Mr. Northam has refocused his governorship on racial equity and reconciliation in what amounted to an extended act of public contrition and atonement. It has been astonishingly effective not just in terms of his own political rehabilitation — his poll numbers climbed from the depths — but also in setting a clear theme for his four-year term in office, delimited by Virginia’s prohibition on governors succeeding themselves.
In the process, Mr. Northam, a Democrat, persuaded many Virginians to allow him a season of penitence.

He was never in real danger of dying politically. Unlike Republicans, Democrats have a way of avoiding the circular firing squad. They don’t virtue-signal themselves to death; they just wait until the controversy dies down.
Northam is dirtier than a hog in a wallow. You computer sleuths need to root him out.
Northam is a major asset for the Left. He will be used to pass a radical disarmament series of state laws and and see if the populace will submit or, alternatively, force a violent incident that will be used as a pretext for using extreme force against American patriots.
I bet VMI alums are disgusted. It would be nice to see some sort of petition of disapproval from VMI. I remember all those political ads where Northam used the prestige of VMI’s honor system to help vouch for his character.
I don’t think the fake media would let a Republican off so easy.
It also shows Virginia is a permanent and entrenched “blue” state and just another fallen domino. Like most states,the only recourse would be to split Virginia North and South.
And VA has a really, really squirrely recall procedure.
He only “came back from the dead” because the media and the democrat party allowed it.
I also think that it was from college that helped him survive. We had a republican House of Representative survive same thing in Florida. He basically told the media to screw off.
Al Franken says otherwise.

When it was discovered that the Lt. Governor had his own scandal, and that the next in line for the Governorship was a REPUBLICAN, all the sudden Northam didn’t stink so bad...
He seems like Trump’s secret weapon for a 2020 victory...
