Funny how the environmental objectives of the "Save the Planet from the Flying Global Warming Monster" squad and that of Marxism line up so neatly.
Of course you shouldn't have personal autonomy or private property. It's bad for the 'planet'. And by the planet, we mean the red planet.
So it's no surprise that The Nation, where the synergy of the red and the green meet, should roll out a story like this, "If we want to keep cities safe in the face of climate change, we need to seriously question the ideal of private homeownership."
...
And give up on dreams of independence and private property. Instead we can all live in barracks or gulags.
Won't that be fun.
...
Go to the collective farms, the gulags, and to slavery. For the planet.

I demand my privacy and most importantly, I demand peace and quiet. I refuse to share a wall with some noise-making Amish that cranks up their stereo at all hours. I dont want to hear that stuff at any time or cars in the parking lot where they crank up the volume.
So how is our home on 5 acres hurting the climate? We have a nice pond, over 200 trees, 2 good gardens and a small house.
How would it help to have X number of more people here pumping more water out the well, more vehicles, more waste and using more propane?
Who makes up the property tax and school tax revenues without private home owners? (Who really don't own anything, they just rent it from local and state government)
Its a watermelon. Green outside but red inside. These people have the same destination as the old Marxists in mind.
Regimented totalitarianism. How dare we resist it!
To even say such a thing with a straight face just shows that these pseudo-environmentalists aren’t very bright.
Areas of highest population density are typically the filthiest areas. More trash, more vermin, less greenery. Not exactly a clean environment in those places. OTOH, the cleanest areas have fairly low population density. When I look out at my neighborhood of single family homes, I do not see piles of trash or teeming vermin. It’s clean.
Of course, concern for the environment is just a cover story. The left wants everyone to be miserable and dysfunctional. Living in conditions where people are packed in like sardines causes a lot of misery. The elites will always live in luxury, but leftist elitists apparently only really enjoy their wealth and comfort when the common peasants live in squalor. They derive significant enjoyment out of the widest possible disparity between the rich and poor.
In my case that would be “my big hairy, farm livin, gun totin, REDNECK @SS”.
There was a thread on Christmas day about new posters promoting the Green New Deal:

and if you click through to the story you can see them in the soviet-style glory:

Your new apartment will be Social Housing, For the People, By the People. Google “Cairo IL Public Housing” to see how it will turn out.
I decided to keep it plain and simple! LOL

MINE WAS A SERIOUS POST!!!
:)
Besides, it’s 11 years and CHANGE :)
Those extra few days or weeks could make all the difference.
I’ve stopped showering completely to do my part.
Of course the elite will get to keep their private mansions.
You just wont be allowed to inhabit a suburban single family home.
Holy sh*t,we really are going to have a civil war that will coincide with a worldwide war:city vs country which is also a very distinct conflict of ideologies:Socialism (and all inherent “isms”) and Conservatism. It will also be spun to be a race war. Keep the powder dry III%.
Bernie Sanders should give away his three houses
They wont have to sacrifice. But you will have to tighten your belt to save the planet before the world ends.
The communists hate life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The unwashed masses are nothing but cattle to them....to be milked every April 15th. They want total control of every aspect of our lives...everything.
They cannot stand the idea of individualism or the private ownership of property. Same old communist BS.
Even before the private homes are physically gone, they will have lost most of their assessed value due to the 'there goes the neighborhood' effect. But maybe that's part of the plan; to wipe out local tax bases and governments in favor of centralized control by the feds.
What, no Nintendo? NO XBOX!
They’ll get a revolution, all right.
Beachfront house next-door to the Obama’s.
Look at the birth rates in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kenya, Jordan, Syria, Yemen, Egypt, the Philippines, Niger, Guatemala, etc. They are much higher than the US. I am not criticizing them for having children, in the least, but the whole concept of human impact on the environment has to include consideration of the number of people added to the world - and not concentrate on pointing fingers at western civilization.
They want everyone jammed into 10 story pink apartment buildings or what I call, civilian barracks. One man’s floor is another man’s ceiling...Packed in like rats in cages.
Yeah, I guess you’re just gonna have to come and take it.
