As if Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam’s wholesale attack on law-abiding gun owners wasn’t enough, the disgraced public official and his Michael Bloomberg-bought allies in the General Assembly now want the state’s hard-working taxpayers to foot the bill for their unconstitutional schemes. The budget bill (HB30) includes an appropriation of a quarter million dollars to carry out a host of gun control measures that Northam and his anti-gun allies hope to enact.
The $250,000 is appropriated to the Corrections Special Reserve Fund in order to provide for the “increase in the operating cost of adult correctional facilities resulting from the enactment” of Northam’s gun control measures. Among the enumerated laws that this allocation is meant to fund is a ban on commonly-owned semi-automatic firearms, the criminalization of private firearms transfers, and gun confiscation orders issued without due process.Aside from the insult of forcing law-abiding Virginia taxpayers to pay for the diminution of their rights, the gun control allocation is a severe waste of resources. Northam’s Bloomberg-backed gun control measures will not make Virginia safer.
In additional to being unconstitutional, a ban on commonly-owned semi-automatic firearms will not reduce violent crime.
Long guns of any description are rarely used in violent crime. FBI Uniform Crime Reporting data breaks down homicides by weapon type. In 2018, the FBI reported that there were five times as many individuals listed as killed with “knives or cutting instruments,” than with rifles of any kind. The data also showed that rifles were listed as being used in less homicides than “blunt objects (clubs, hammers, etc.)” or “personal weapons (hands, fists, feet, etc.).”

Hopefully this will shake the Republican Party, whatever of it there may still be, awake and into finding candidates to run in all of the state legislature districts where they didn’t have any one running in the last election.

Our beloved Commonwealth was invaded and taken over by non-Virginians in the north near DC who suck at the federal gov. teat...and the billions of gov. $$$ have drawn commies from all over the world.
They simply out-numbered true Virginians.
So we are not like the Venezuelans who elected their disaster - we tried (Dave Brat), but the foreigners and invaders simply outnumber us.
So don’t criticize us - pray for us.

This is one Arizonian who is ready to support Virginia on this. If we don’t go help nip it in the bud there, it will spread like a wildfire to everywhere.

It is all talk right now. Nothing is new law and it is sad this is even a conversation in Va. But I am encouraged by the conversation. There will be no debate on this redline that shalt not be crossed.

The question is what will the people do?
Conservatives used to be law enforcement’s only friends in govt but have reached the point where we can no longer support empowering the cops because they are using the cops against us.
The counties in the western side of Virginia and perhaps some in central Virginia will resist if this goes far enough. These are places where outsiders are noticed fast. Blocking State Police vehicles and other unmarked cars with sheriff;s department and volunteer deputies vehicles would be a fine approach. Plenty of good video taping done for each incident. There is no way Obama or Clinton would permit Bloomberg to stamp himself on a one-state 2A war headed by a Governor "Coonman". The optics are horrible.
But there's one who doesn't care: McAuliffe. What a golem.
He had more to do with getting these nimrods elected than Bloomberg, and knows that Lt. Gov. #MeToo Fairfax is probably doomed in 2022, so the time to strike is now.
So, McAuliffe at the head of a one-state 2A war he's gonna lose, and all that Planned Parenthood PAC money he blew on Fairfax?
They want to remold VA into California-style abortion laws, so McAuliffe can point to a win despite losing VA in 2022 to any GOP candidate not slobbering on himself (like Turd Blossom's protege Ed Gillespie).
The 2A war is a feint by McAuliffe to cover a quick package of abortion-for-all laws to be rammed through VA legislature in January.
The woman in that image has a look on her face as if to say, “Who the hell does this prick think he is?”
By then SCOTUS will be 7-2, and McAuliffe will run as Planned Parenthood's Palpatine, probably with a Pack-The-Courts-For-PP message -- just as I have said in previous posts about impeachment.

Biden will never take Mooch as his VP but you could damn sure see McAuliffe doing it -- merging whatever is left of the Clinton coalition (not much) to the body politic of Obama's wing, by simply hiring Bobo's wife, and then running a campaign versus Pence pitting women against men.
