Increasing intensity quakes in a short period of time is troubling.

Letting off a little pressure maybe? While I have no particular sympathy for the entire left coast, the expected Big One would be truly catastrophic.

We visited Victoria and stayed in a classic hotel. At 3:00 one day we had tea. There were cucumber sandwiches and crumpets..... the real deal
The problem with a quake in Victoria is it needs to be in San Francisco

At that latitude, the northern end of the Juan de Fuca plate is subducting eastward under the North American plate, while the Pacific plate to the west and the Juan de Fuca plate is spreading out, like the Mid-Atlantic ridge.
So, could be normal. Earthquakes along this plate generally reduce pressure. However, a big one could let go several miles in and deep, and then...
Fo’getaboutit!
Tsunami's, Mt Rainer blowing its top, Shasta, Mt Baker, Mt Hood, what a mess!

As long as it takes out Goolag and Hollywood first, I’m not complaining.
But it’s not up to me.

In addition to the mass of 4s and 5 surrounding the 6+ tremors.
There was a series of low level rumbles on-shore over the last month. Since the fault has recently been shown to be part of the large San Andras fault system, I’d be sure my preps are all on order.
I went thru a 7.2 quake last NOV and it was no fun, but thankfully, Anchorage is very earthquake resilient overall. Power automatically cut and was restored with two hours for most of the city.
If Cascadia rips, you will be in my prayers - as I head for high ground

Just got back from Scotland end of September. Had high tea in the hotel we stayed at in Inverness. It was lovely. Had it about 5 pm and used it for dinner.

If the Cascadia let’s go, I doubt any of the Cascade volcanoes would erupt.
Granted, Seattle, Portland, and a bunch of other places would be wrecked, but I doubt there would be any eruptions.
