Speaker Nancy Pelosi continues to withhold the House articles of impeachment from the Senate, further trivializing a serious constitutional power and process. Senate Republicans seem content to play along while ridiculing her gambit, but they should take their own duties more seriously and hold a trial.

One emerging dodge seems to be that President Trump isn’t formally impeached until the articles are transmitted to the Senate. This is absurd.

It seems that in the past few days Nancy Pelosi, her fellow plotters in the Democrat party, and the America HATING MEDIA are trying to fabricate an even bigger tragedy than they have already created.

These evil villains must be stopped.

It would seem the dems want the republicans to proceed with the trial before Trump is impeached. What could go wrong?

The obvious since it's an open ended impeachment as the trial starts the dems can add new false charges whenever they feel like it.

Logical course of action is for the senate to set a deadline for the dems impeachment or they can't accept their open ended impeachment.

Go to the DC court and demand a Writ of mandamus to pass the process to the Senate. Nanzi is literally holding onto the narrative until the Senate gets it. I suspect the plan is to hold on until after the election. Republicans have 22 out 33 seats they have to hold so the Rats could regain the Senate and that is when Nanzi passes it over, especially if she loses the House.

I know it isn't a popular sentiment around here, but in this case the WSJ is correct.

It is a political fool's errand to keep asserting that Trump isn't "really impeached" because Nancy, Soros, Schiff, and the Globalist Lawfare criminals have devised this strategy to hold the Senate and the nation hostage. In fact, their Satanic strategy is brilliant. It denies the Senate the power it has under the Constitution to hold the trial....indefinitely.

That is because the Republicans are playing the game of the Democrats and the media. The truth is, the Constitution does not say the articles of impeachment have to be "transferred" to the Senate.

All the Constitution says about impeachment is this:

Article 1, Section 2, Clause 5

The House of Representatives shall chuse their Speaker and other Officers; and shall have the sole Power of Impeachment.

----------------------------------------------------------

Article 1, Section 3, Clauses 6 and 7

The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments. When sitting for that Purpose, they shall be on Oath or Affirmation. When the President of the United States is tried the Chief Justice shall preside; And no Person shall be convicted without the Concurrence of two thirds of the Members present. Judgement in Cases of Impreachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States: but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgement and Punishment, according to Law.

I have posted this before, and I know it is a loooong shot, but perhaps the only recourse is for the White House and the Senate to appeal to the Supreme Court to dismiss the articles of impeachment, already passed by the House, as not withstanding Constitutional muster. There was no "high crime, treason, or bribery" by the President. Not one iota.

I suspect McConnell has a plan, but rather than give the Democrats a few weeks to work on a response with the Senate out anyway, he’ll just let them twist in the wind for a while.

I just read that in the Clinton impeachment the house finished December 15th and sent to senate January 7th. Nancy is just acting like she has power but really is just doing what is routine.

Yes, the Senate should schedule a speedy trial. To do this, the Senate should set rules. One of the first rules should be that no hearsay evidence will be admissible. That would eliminate most of the democrats' case. A derivative rule would be that the provenance of all charges must be established on the record and under oath so that credibility can be assessed. This would mean that the original whistleblower, Adam Schiff and anyone else connected with the launching of the Ukrainian gambit would have to testify.

If this were done, my prediction is that Nancy Pelosi would refuse to name managers and the democrats would refuse to participate, arguing that the rules were unfair.

I’m not sure but won’t this *impeachment* be null and void if Nancy loses the House? It would need to be completed before the next Congress is sworn in.

Very little.

However, with the full spotlight of the Constitution and the fate of the country on him, as well as the pressure from Thomas, Kavanaugh, Alito, and Gorsuch - it may be the best recourse.

If the court throws out impeachment, the media and the Democrats will howl - but the legitimacy of their charade will utterly collapse. And, they would be humiliated.

This is all about RBG having weeks to live.

Nancy is holding up the process to de-legitimize DJT’s presidency and prevent another SCJ appointment.

Why they are trying to run out the clock with such poor prospects in November is beyond me, but I’m sure they have other “bombshells” waiting.

Where did you read that? I’m interested. My understanding was that they passed enough along because the very next day, or maybe even the same day, managers were named for both sides. In essence, the process was started immediately after the vote was recorded.

There is no appellate path to take to the Supreme Court and one isn't needed. All Cocaine Mitch has to do once he has received the Articles of Impeachment from Nancy is to introduce a motion to dismiss the Articles in the Senate. If he gets 51 votes in favor, the Articles are dismissed, there is no Senate trial and we can all go our collective merry way! Nancy Pelosi knows this, which is why she hasn't transmitted the Articles yet. She's attempting to apply leverage she simply does not have in a pathetic attempt to configure the events to her desired outcome.

Furthermore, the idea that the President hasn't been impeached yet is valid and here is what it's based on:

A Grand Jury can vote to return an indictment against an individual. Once they do that, their work is done. They can close up shop and go home. But that individual is not yet indicted and won't be until the court clerk of the trial venue enters the voted-upon indictment onto the court docket. THEN the individual is indicted, not before. So the thought is that as long as she refuses to walk the Articles to the other side of the building, Donald Trump is unimpeached and will remain so until they are entered as received into the Senate record and a trial date is established. Once that happens, he's impeached. So as of Tuesday, Dec 24 at 0700, Donald J. Trump can claim he's not been impeached and be right.
