If FBI was routinely cutting corners on FISA warrants, Comey will look even worse

“That is, has the bureau taken to regularly lying in its 1,500 requests a year for Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act wiretaps - or did higher-ups opt to go rogue in this particular case?”

Yes & yes. The FBI under Obama were political hacks. Hacks routinely cut corners to make themselves look good. But you can tell from the Page-Strzok texts that they were aware that their butts were hanging out a mile on this one.

Comey cannot look worse than he does. Right now he looks like a pile of dog crap in a paper bag left on the front porch of Brennan’s house. I guess the only thing worse would be to light the bag on fire, ring Brennan’s doorbell and run.

If that guy isn’t the whistleblower, he’s the stupidest guy on the planet.

Unless the picture is CGI.

One thing Comey has going for him, if the DOJ has to acknowledge publicly he was a dirty cop everything he touched has to be re-litigated. It would tie up the DOJ and FBI for a long, long time. Bagpipes won’t do it.

Sad as it is to admit, you amy be correct.

There are about 1500 FISA warrants a year, and hundreds of cases where Comey injected his crooked views and I don't think Barr wants to re-open all of those cases.

There must be a marcy park solution that some one {brennen, the klintoons, weissman, holder, lynch} is contemplating.

There were certainly such warrants issued to spy on the leading candidate Jeb Bush.

Where can I see evidence of this?

Jeb Bush? He was never a threat to anyone at all.

“Now that we know FBI agents deceived the court to get the warrants to spy on Trump campaign aide Carter Page”

False.

The FBI got the warrants to spy on Trump.

Page was always just an excuse.

The FISA system is premised on the notion that those preparing the applications have high levels of diligence, objectivity, and integrity. The system is managed in secret; the judges are almost by necessity a rubber stamp, the executives who sign off on the applications do not even read them. What could go wrong?

Can anyone look at the top FBI personnel and DoJ lawyers that have been paraded before us, and characterize ANY of them as demonstrating diligence, objectivity, and integrity? Biased crooks do not want underlings with integrity in sensitive jobs. If a fair percentage of the FISA applications are not bent deliberately or through “sloppiness”, it would be the miracle of the Age.

Au contraire mi Amigo..... (Frog mex lingo there) at the outset Jeb had a $$ hundred million banked and was touted as the front runner.

Trump was not only a dark horse but was heavily discounted. The spying began before Trump was a real threat

Sure, he had money, but he’s as deep among the American Oligarchs as the whole Bush family which is as corrupt as they come. He was never anything but the other side of the same coin. And Trump took him down without even breaking a sweat or breathing hard.

I digress....If the FBI/DOJ are the ones that, police the police...who police’s them? Congress? What entity goes after them? Two prosecutors get caught lying and withholding evidence in the Sen Stevens trial and absolutely nothing happens to them. In fact, the same judge that is overseeing Gen Flynn’s case is the one that caught them. Nothing happened to them. McCabe gets caught lying on 4 separate occasions, nothing....so far, maybe, I doubt it.

We had that problem in Florida - a 'who judges the Judges'. A solution was found by a brilliant man named Richard T. Earle, Jr - he created the Judicial Qualifications Commission JQC - a group that had the power to remove judges if necessary. For the most part the commission worked to salvage a situation if they could ( a judge with a drinking problem etc)... but every now and than a Judge was beyond help. Earle was the man who took out Alcee Hastings. Earle was my attorney for years and was easily one of the most decent people I've ever had the privilege to knowing. He's been dead for many years but his work still lives on.... so it can be done.

Interesting. So much hinges on November 2020, that I think it’s hard for a lot of people to imagine.

I think you miss the point. Jeb had not his own money but Republican money. Jeb was the leading candidate of choice. Jeb was therefore the one that needed to be spied on to gather intelligence and dirt.

Never in a hundred years did Hillary Inc think a dark horse would ride down an escalator and beat him.

Leading candidate of choice for the (R) side of the oligarchy maybe, but he was nobody for even primary voters.

Everything you say is irrelevant to this thread. The topic is Spying.

At the outset, Jeb Bush had the party money men money and was considered to be the leading candidate. Therefore, he was the early on threat and was likely subject to being spied on.
