The Seattle Times informed staff that they’re changing the way they use the terms “black” and “white” after conversations with senior editors at the Diversity & Inclusion task force, according to an internal email sent to the Jason Rantz Show on KTTH.
white (adj.): Belonging to people with light-colored skin, especially those of European descent. Unlike Black, it is lower case, as its use is a physical description of people whose backgrounds may spring from many different cultures. Capitalized white is often used by the white nationalist/white supremacist movement. Do not use as a singular or plural noun. When ethnicity is relevant to the story, ask the source which personal ethnic identifier they use.
The ST is a failing newspaper like the PI who went extinct. It’s a liberal rag.
Nice of them to try to be “correct”.
However, a year from now, someone will be outraged and triggered by this deeply offensive choice. There may be a lawsuit. There will have to be additional meetings with a diversity task force. Language guidelines will be updated. And that should last another 12 months or so.
Euphemism for "deadbeats given high paying, low demand job who happen to be related to the mayor."

The next “hate crime” will be to capitalize White. Also, using lower case for black. Why is there this discrepancy between White and black?
After all, it’s just a difference in the size of the letters?
It’s already a crime to use the “wrong” pronouns, so why not make it a crime to type “black” or “White”? Before you know it they’ll be arresting people who type “obama” or “Trump”.

You might find it hard to believe but prior to 2005, the Times was middle of the road and maybe a little conservative - competing with the super left wing Seattle PI.
When the PI shut down physical paper operations, i am not sure what happened to the Blethens family oversight - but probably a deal with the devil with McClatchy management.

Apparently, the people who are afflicted with this decadence cannot see the obvious when it is right before them, but future generations will.

Whether or not the USA has reached the point of no return remains to be seen. President Trump and his supporters believed that she has not, that she can be pulled back from the brink of self-destructive decadence.

Please use lower case when referring to the seattle times. I do agree that the st is a failing newspaper.
The Seattle Times is trying to whitewash this whole racial thing. Instead, it has just given itself a black eye. No wonder these white elephants are going broke. In fact, the whole industry should be blackballed.

Capitalize Black because it is a reflection of shared cultures and experiences (foods, languages, music, religious traditions, etc.).
is this a newspaper? If so, what color ink and what color paper will the Times use now?
Well if I’d use lower case nobody would know but yeah in the future I will just use lower case like I do for islam and muzzies.
Why not reverse the print and print in a newspaper “dark mode”?
Since the newsprint type paper can't handle that much ink, pretty soon everyone that actually picks up a ST print copy will join reporters as having ink stained fingers.
The idiocy of the progressives knows no bounds. They may even take this suggestion seriously.
Sounds like the Racial Determination Board will be busy insuring the right classification of people to be called white or Bbblack.
