House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Thursday defended her decision to hold off on sending impeachment articles to the Senate, calling Mitch McConnell a "rogue leader" in an unusual press conference where she repeatedly tried to shut down questions about the impeachment process.
Pelosi spoke to reporters after Democrats passed two articles of impeachment against President Trump in a Wednesday evening vote. She indicated the House would eventually send the articles over to the upper chamber, but insisted it is up to the Senate to determine how the process develops going forward.
“The next thing for us will be when we see the process that is set forth in the Senate, then we’ll know the number of managers that we may have to go forward, and who we would choose,” Pelosi said Thursday.
After an impeachment in the House, the articles are normally sent over to the upper chamber for an impeachment trial, but Pelosi signaled earlier that the House is waiting for the Senate to set out how Trump's trial will be conducted before they determine next steps, such as designating impeachment managers who will represent them. This prompted outrage from Republicans who worried she would simply refuse to transmit the articles, thus denying Trump the chance at acquittal.
Pelosi made clear Thursday that she is not prepared to name those managers yet "because we don't know the arena we are in." As she did Wednesday, Pelosi insisted House Democrats want to see a "fair process"...

LOL! So I guess I missed the “Rent-a-Spine” shop last time I was near D.C.? The house clown show should be charged with obstruction. I tried to watch some of the assclown comments in the house and only made it past one and a half speakers. In order to save the tv from certain death, I turned it off. Absolutely disgusting.

Democrats have 2 options after passing their illegitimate articles of impeachment.
1. Send it to the Senate where the Republicans will kill it and then campaign against the Republican party’s obstruction of justice.
2. Hold it, claiming the Republicans will obstruct in the Senate and campaign on step 2 of impeachment if they capture the Senate.
Their strategy appears to be the later. They don’t want Trump, they don’t want Republicans, they are coming for the heart of conservatism,THE VOTER.
If Trump is the enemy,then The Republicans who protected him are co-conspirators and the VOTER is the recurring threat that keeps putting enemies of the Democratic party in office.
These people have become nasty and violent. They see the massive turnout for Trump and know we will be at the ballot box in 2020. They are in an all or nothing fight.
Some idiot claimed hearing the death rattle of the Republican party. Reality, they are scared to death. On more supreme Court confirmation by Trump and the Senate will tie it up for a very long time.
With recent multi-state passage of tighter abortion laws, they see a potential end of abortion as they know it, nationally.
The Democrat if Party is a tyranny seeking the authority of governance the power of the Treasury and the Military control to secure it.
Do not rely on Democrats and demographics to crossover and vote for Trump. Just show up in 2020 and vote. If there are switch voters, gravy. Either way, losing only happens when we run out of votes before they do on election night. Winning , is Trump inauguration part 2, a recapture of the house, retaining the Senate and one more appointment to the supreme Court....
Mitch was right and set up options on the back burner. 1. The articles have no merit, toilet paper and 2. They are therefore not even worth receiving, and therefore not even worth sending.

Starting with the so called Trump dossier and the FBI spying and until now the whole process has been a travesty and we should be very afraid because it could happen to any of us.
Worst of all, the Press are at minimum, ignoring it, and at worst complicit.
Remember that this is why we Americans have the the right to own firearms. It is the last resort should the government become tyrannical. And it is why the Democrats are so he!! bent on taking away this right. They fear us and it is clear that they will do anything, including attacking a person's liberty to get to achieve an end.

It will be a new Congress after the next election so they'll have to conduct a new impeachment vote. This is another reason why the Dem reps from Trump districts who voted foe this impeachment need to be mercilessly targeted and replaced with Pubs.
