EL PASO, Texas -- A Border Patrol K9 agent was shot and killed while trying to detain a suspect.
Bulder, a 5-year-old Belgian Malinois, was shot to death by the 62-year-old suspect while executing a search warrant on Tuesday. During the incident, agents shot back and killed the suspect.

I agree with your entire post.
The dog was in effect a surrogate border patrol agent. The dog was in effect sacrificed to prevent death or wounding of a human.
Police routinely shoot peoples dogs.Should homeowners routinely fire back and kill police? Dont be stupid.
It’s a dog, a tool, not a police officer.
If you unleash an attack animal on me I will kill it.
But then I do not resist lawful arrest either. But i will not get on that train.
If they can impeach the best President in my lifetime on no lawful evidence, this government has gone Feral, if this is not corrected, that badge means nothing any more, it’s just a matter of time till the dogs are on us.

Absolutely! A dog is not a person so may not operate as an agent of the state. It would be the same as granting arrest powers to a policeman’s service weapon.
Pretty sure those dogs are considered “Agents’ by the departments that use them.
