Here is my sad example of futility.

Email to my (D) Rep:

Proponents of this foolish impeachment invoke “Democracy” with typical histrionics.

I find this to be ironic.

Your flimsy accusations against Trump are questionable and, even if true, which they are not, do not rise to the high hurdle of impeachment. Particularly so less than a year before the next election. The nation will survive until then.

And you know it.

This whole debacle smells of politics and I’m tired of the stink. I worry about democracy when one political party seeks to effectively cripple, intervene and/or influence a presidential election in such a flagrantly biased and egregious manner.

Also, what’s wrong with peace, prosperity, record low unemployment, rising wages, energy independence, a stable and strong stock market, zero inflation, rising domestic manufacturing jobs and on and on?

How about some independent thought on this matter? A little muscular, intelligent iconoclasm? For the country.

Feeling unrepresented again,

Rumor circulating on Facebook that Impeachment will not be a rollcall vote. I doubt that very much ... not that they wouldn’t try, but that it be allowed to go down that way.

A voice vote would be utterly impossible for this.

The presiding officer, presumably one of ours, would be the one to decide who was louder.

Utterly insufficient for this task.

That would be the icing on the cake and very fitting for this "historic" event. I don't believe it will happen, but nothing would surprise me at this point.

If they try a voice vote, that would be the icing on the cake for this thing. Everyone needs to go on record for this.

"For one thing, the Democrats have taken a sledge hammer to the Constitution, again. They’ve rendered the impeachment clause a dead letter. It’s all about politics and political advantage now. No president will ever fear or respect it again...not if they have political power on their side. They can commit any crime they wish with that power and do anything they want to the Constitution or to the people...the citizens...and fear nothing. Because now a president ha been impeached for nothing but sheer hate by the party with power. Impeachment is now meaningless...now it’s not about something real, it’s about nothing at all, and the next Leftist president will run over his enemies with no fear of any retribution. We are ripe for dictatorship after today. And that’s why this is a black day."

Well stated, but it argues that the only way back is an armed reset of the country and I don't know if the broad citizenry is ready to carry out such a purge.

Hell the dems have not adhered to the Constitution. Do it and make them take it to the Supreme Court.

Then let the male bovine scat hit the rotating piece of machinery by bringing out the lies, coup and seditious traitors.

Well, I don’t know either...another reason why this is a dark day, even if in the short term it won’t do anything.

The long-term ramifications are terrible.

There are two ways to have an armed re-set, one is to have such ubiquitous mass discontent in every aspect of people’s lives, that they feel they have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Eric Hoffer speaks of that, and arguably that’s what the Dems want to create with their third-world mal-administration in the premier cities of the US. But in the heartland, the exact opposite conditions are coming about. Workforce participation is high and growing, and the Trump economy is spreading happiness and contentment.

The second way to have an armed re-set is to have intact communities in which prosperity abounds, a cohesive society, facing an external threat to their well-being. That was what occurred during the American Revolution, due to the British imperial over-reaction to disturbances in Boston.

The US, however, is in neither polar extreme. Life is improving, but is not at its zenith yet. Communities might be healing from years of decay, but are not idyllic by any stretch. So there will be no armed re-set, just a political conflict between two opposite ideologies, and a lot of overheated rhetoric on both sides.

What the Trump-ians have on their side is hope, and the cultivation of hope. What the nihilistic urbanist Dems have on their side is despair, and the cultivation of hatred and division. I feel good about the prospects of hope. MAGA. It will win as surely as corn grows towards sunlight.

Look if the House votes to Impeach that’s just not the end of it.. The Senate, as we know, determines thereafter. It does no good putting our heads in the sand believing it’s a dark and gloomy day because one side of our 3-Branch Government is abusing and using their authority. Everybody knows this including the Dems and their supportrs, (dudnerheads excempted).

We’ll all be celebrating before this over...and that’s just the fact!

Hate and dividing the voters is the objective of these editionists. Regardless of the final vote on these fabricated fairy dust articles, the demon rats are accomplishing their goal.

thanks to all the republicans who sat home during the midterms, and to the cheating pig dems in California who somehow won all of the R seats.

The Democrats are panicked into doing something even if it is wrong. The house is burning and many would flee except mama told them to stay and they dare not disobey
