Trey Gowdy just made a good point. You have a win, take it. Investigate the Bidens and the Schiff whistleblower collusion separately if you want to, but take the win first, dont mess it up.
But dont stop there oh no no no
Oh, shucks. I thought the title meant that you are RUNNING for Senate. That would be wonderful!
I don’t think the last two could pass. Too many congress critters in both houses on the take. But if they could it would be a great swamp draining move.
I would vote for him, too!
Yep. I’m not sure what the best way to go on this is.
At least with a trial... If the senate allows Trump to call witnesses we may actually expose something. But on the other hand a quick dismisal with criminal referrals sounds nice too.
Thank You!!!
I don’t think I could stomach it.
I’m watching those hearings and I really appreciate Congressman Jordan, Collins, Ratcliff, the lady from NY, and others.
They would end up broadcasting that I was surfing during the hearings instead of reporting on the democrat that was watching golf during the hearings.
I will never trust Trey Gowdy. That said, if Biden, Schiff etc are not called during the Senate trial, they will never be dealt with.
Gowdy strangled fisagate in the crib don’t forget that.
I agree with Gowdy one hundred percent.
Corrupt as Washington DC is, with untold avenues of deception, nothing is a safe bet
No offense, but #10 and #11 are delusional. Corruption in the realm of foreign aid is a bipartisan affair in Congress.
An addendum to #11: The private foundations of presidents and cabinet members, past and present, should also be investigated for possible corruption.
“I would vote for him, too!”
We in TN would be lucky to have him. Imagine: A FReeper in the Senate — State or U.S. — I don’t care!
I am sort of in favor of what is being proposed.
But, I am also in favor of a complete trial in the Senate IF. and that is a big IF, it results in criminal investigations into what the national socialists democrat party did in the house.
Democrats have poisoned the waters around any investigation of Biden. A Senate resolution would lift the burden off of Trump and place it on the AG. The AG can't be accused of partisan investigations for Trump if the Senate passed a resolution calling for the investigation.
And if the Senate votes for a resolution instead of an individual Senator or Congressmen, the AG pretty much has to look at it.
Gowdy said Congress is horrible at investigations and called for letting the professionals investigate. Possibly true and probably good advice.
I like that addendum. Although I do have to agree with Alberta’s Child. Too many on the take for #10 and #11 to pass. Probably wouldn’t even be allowed to come to the floor.
And you posted this in News.
The Democrats and media will frame it as the Republicans whitewashing impeachment and acting in a partisan manner. If, a big if, the republicans actually did serious investigations after the action it would help but I expect nothing to happen of a serious nature.
News/Activism.
Sort of thought it qualified as Activism.
You’re probably right on that. And a long trial would actually help galvanize the public and keep the senators tied up (you know the ones running for President).
And Trump can play the victim of a do nothing hateful congress.
It would be difficult to imagine the spineless GOP taking up any of these measures, even though it would be massively successful. They just don’t really want to govern.
