Hunter Biden's controlled substance charge kept under wraps as Joe led Senate drug war
washingtonexaminer.com ^ | 12/12/19 | Alana Goodman & Joseph Simonson

Hunter Biden was arrested on Jersey Shore drug charges in 1988 and had his record expunged at a time when his father was pushing for the incarceration of drug offenders drawn disproportionately from minority groups.

Congressional records reveal that Hunter Biden, now 49, was arrested June 1988 in Stone Harbor, New Jersey, where the Biden family has often holidayed over the years. Hunter Biden, then 18, had just graduated from the prestigious Archmere Academy prep school, which his father had also attended. The former vice president and his wife Jill have often been spotted on trips to Stone Harbor.

The arrest has not previously been reported. Republicans have recently highlighted Hunter Biden's drug abuse, questioning why it was not taken into account when the lobbyist was appointed to a $50,000-a-month post on the board of the Ukraine oil company Burisma in 2014, when his father, as vice president, was the Obama administration's lead official on Ukraine.

A year after the arrest, Joe Biden gave a speech in which he said the federal government needed to “hold every drug user accountable" because, "If there were no drug users, there would be no appetite for drugs, there would be no market for them."

Sen Biden neglected to mention the drug use in his own family.

At the time, Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware was one of the leading advocates of the federal government’s war on drugs. He abandoned his 1988 presidential run, in which he stressed his law-and-order credentials, after a plagiarism scandal.

He crafted the Anti-Drug Abuse Act of 1986, which imposed significantly harsher sentences for possession of crack cocaine versus powder, a law that critics argue increased the racial disparity in prisons.

He also wrote bills leading to the appointment of a national drug czar and increasing mandatory minimum sentences for drug crimes.

It is not known whether Biden, then an influential senator from a neighboring state and who was widely viewed as a potential future president, intervened in the case or whether the family name was influential.

Five months after his son escaped a sentence and had his possession charge kept secret, Biden voted for the Anti-Drug Abuse Act of 1988, which made crack cocaine, often used by poor, black offenders, the only drug with a mandatory minimum penalty for a first offense of simple possession.

But while many minorities were imprisoned for minor drug offenses, the wealthy, white Hunter Biden was allowed to participate in a state diversionary program called pretrial intervention. The program allowed first offenders to “avoid a trial and having the stigma accompanying a guilty verdict,” according to the Rubinstein Law Firm in New Jersey.

The aim of the program was to give offenders the chance to correct their behavior and embark on a successful course in life. Critics, however, argue that it can be treated as a way to be let off and, by removing an offense from a person's record, fails to make offenders account publicly for a crime. In Hunter Biden's case, rather than reforming, he continued to be a substance abuser and addict.

Hunter Biden's arrest is contained in disclosures he made as part of his nomination to the Amtrak Reform Board. “In June 1988, I was cited for possession of a controlled substance in Stone Harbor, New Jersey. There was a pretrial intervention, and the record was expunged,” Hunter Biden acknowledged during a 2006 hearing before the Senate Committee on Science, Commerce, and Transportation on his nomination. He did not identify the controlled substance.

The Stone Harbor Police Department told the Washington Examiner that it was unable to locate the arrest report, though the department has maintained records from that time. The 1988 arrest appears to be the same drug-related incident for which Hunter Biden received a waiver when he joined the U.S. Navy Reserve in 2013.

PRESCOTT ARIZONA POLICE REPORT ON HUNTER BIDEN

CIRCA 2016 AZ Police Report:
Cocaine Pipe in Hunter Biden car rental; L/E Declined to Prosecute

breitbart.com ^ | 5/17/19 | MATTHEW BOYLE
FR Posted on 5/18/2019, 6:29:27 AM by Liz

Breitbart News obtained a police report filed days before Obama's 2016 presidential election that describes a used cocaine pipe found in a rental car returned to an Arizona Hertz location in the middle of the night.

Also found inside the vehicle were Hunter's personal effects:
<><> two drivers’ licenses both bearing Hunter Biden’s legal name, Robert Biden,
<><> credit cards with the same name,
<><> a Secret Service business card in Hunter Biden's name,
<><> an Attorney General’s badge (his brother was Del AG),
<><> a used cocaine pipe,
<><> a white powdery substance in the arm rest of the vehicle.

“Joseph McGee” called the Hertz rental car counter to inform them of how the keys to the car were left in the vehicle’s gas cap. “McGee” informed the rental car company employee that “his friend was feeling sick so they didn’t know what to do” when the car was returned.

Police traced the Joseph McGee call to a phone number of a local renowned “Colon Hydrotherapist" ----- whose staff double as sex workers for clients who get their penises pumped after getting colonically stimulated.

One Prescott Police officer reported the Secret Service had informed the local police that “Robert Biden had been located by the Secret Service and was well.” The 23 page police document repeatedly refer to the suspect under investigation as Robert Hunter Biden and the report type as a “Narcotics Offense.”

Two different Prescott Police Department officers as well as a detective conducted an investigation—but ultimately local authorities in both the city and county attorney’s offices declined to prosecute.

A document shows the the county attorney declined to prosecute because they thought they would only be able to get minor charges to stick, and kicked it down to the city attorney. It s unclear why the city attorney declined to prosecute. (Excerpt) Read more at breitbart.com ...

Sorry. The black community was calling for a focus on crack enforcement back then. It was not just white men.

Probably because he or she is fond of breathing.

“It s unclear why the city attorney declined to prosecute.”

Actually, it seem pretty clear. Meanwhile, dragging this out in the public could harm Hunter’s recovery. He’s been clean and sober for hours at this point.

Both Joe Biden and his son are gluttons for their own perverse appetites.

Neither of them has even an iota of self control.

They are monsters.

“”Congressional records reveal that Hunter Biden, now 49, was arrested June 1988 in Stone Harbor, New Jersey,””

Why would that be in congressional records?

“”Why would that be in congressional records?””

Must be because of this?

“”Hunter Biden acknowledged during a 2006 hearing before the Senate Committee on Science, Commerce, and Transportation on his nomination. “”

Biden had already left Prescott, Yavapai County, and Arizona so he would have to be arrested then extradited back to Yavapai County to face what would be most likely misdemeanor charges. Neither Prescott or Yavapai County have the resources to pursue a person for misdemeanors out of state.

If Biden was still at the Prescott Regional Airport or in the state he certainly would have been arrested and charged.

Yavapai County is a conservative area but has limited financial resources.

So Creepy Joe will have no problem using that excuse to explain why his white son could stay out of jail while young blacks were put IN jail.

Yaeh, that excuse should go over real well with black voters ...

IF it was in the congressional record then somebody placed it there at the time. Start looking for a closed-door committee meeting in the Fall of ‘88. My guess is that it was placed there by a rival for the Democrat Nomination — ‘88 was after all a presidential election year.
