The White House pushed back Friday against claims that Donald Trump's tweeted jab at global warming activist Greta Thunberg, 16, is incompatible with Melania Trump's protective insistence that her 13-year-old son Barron is out-of-bounds for reporters.
The first lady has crusaded against cyber-bullying as one plank in her 'BeBest' platform.
The president mocked Thunberg on Thursday after Time magazine named the jet-setting, school-bycotting teen its Person of the Year, leaving his spokeswoman to parry claims of hypocrisy.
'BeBest is the First Ladys initiative, and she will continue to use it to do all she can to help children,' White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham said in a statement. 'It is no secret that the President and First Lady often communicate differently as most married couples do.'

Ugly Greta put herself out there. if she can’t take the heat, she should get out of the kitchen.
The left always puts out sympathetic characters as the face of their “causes.’ Greta is more sympathetic and (to them) unassailable vs Al Gore. They use cute little polar bears for wildlife protection, while the animal would chew any of them up in a NY minute. But cute in photos, right?
THAT is the difference.
There, fixed it.
How is telling her to relax and enjoy a movie an ‘attack’?
Greta is just gracing herself on the magazine tables of barber shops and dental offices, the only way I and others know that Time magazine is still actually in business.
Careful Melania. Nancy Satan would drag you by the hair through the streets of cheering throngs. Lizzy would do the deed on your head not a likeness (Indians are good with primitive tools). CNN would record it all for posterity.
HOORAY Chief and FLOTUS. Thank you.
We are being ATTACKED. 535+ v 230 million
2020 is approaching.
See clearly.
PREPARE
Agree. I couldn’t hear all the question from the press to the president in the WH yesterday saying someone needing anger management who has autism. Was that about the charming Greta and did he say anything like that about her? Or did I not hear it right?
The president mocked Thunberg on Thursday ...
...
President Trump gave her good advice. That’s not mocking.
Greta would be in Sweden just being another kid if her parents and handlers weren’t selfish climate nuts using her as a mouthpiece to spout their lies and a shield to protect their fragile egos.
Amen, that is one ugly kid (inside and out). She’ll grow up to be a gigantic pain in somebody’s ass.
How long is this mutant girl going to be 16?
They can’t dress her up with pigtails and pretend she’s a child forever.
Guy approaches a news stand.
Picks up a copy of Time.
Hands news vendor a dollar.
News vendor asks, You buying the magazine or the company?
Where was the media moral outrage when Sandman was being actually bullied? (Not really wondering)
“”The teen girl with Asperger’s syndrome””
So this is what the reporter who asked the president the question yesterday was talking about. That reporter called it “autistic”...those words have absolutely nothing to do with what the president said in his Tweet about her. The mother of this “kid” certainly isn’t concerned about her mental welfare if she can send her around the world making a fool of herself.
Agree!
I have no idea what you mean
Nick Sandman, 16 years old, said nothing to anyone and was savaged by the press, all of the press. Hope he becomes a multi millionaire due to it.
