Donald Trump Jr. slams Time for choosing Greta Thunberg as Person of the Year

Donald Trump Jr. blasted Time on Twitter for choosing teen climate activist Greta Thunberg as Person of the Year.

Trump Jr. suggested the pro-democracy protesters who have rocked Hong Kong should have been given the title instead.

"Time leaves out the Hong Kong Protesters fighting for their lives and freedoms to push a teen being used as a marketing gimmick," he tweeted. "How dare you?"

The comment, "How dare you?" is seemingly another jab at Thunberg. The teen famously asked world leaders that same question during an emotional speech at the United Nations in New York City in September.

Edward Felsenthal, Time's editor-in-chief, described Thunberg, who is the youngest person to be named Person of the Year, as the "biggest voice on the biggest issue facing the planet," The Hill reported.

While Trump Jr. has criticized the magazine's choice, other notable political figures and celebrities have praised the pick and the 16-year-old's work.

Sen. Cory Booker was among the 2020 candidates to congratulate Thunberg. Hillary Clinton tweeted that she "couldn't think of a better" choice.

"I am grateful for all she's done to raise awareness of the climate crisis and her willingness to tell hard, motivating truths," Clinton said.

Kanye West would have even been a better choice than Greta.

Time’s decision not to honor Rachel Corrie this year left her feeling kind of flat.

Years ago, many years, Time was an important publication and this honor meant something. Time is now insignificant, so why does anybody care about who they give this title to.
I can name a person of the year. I say it’s me!

Doubt she makes it to 20. She’ll be on the cover again but next time it’ll be for some horrific deed she did.

How will she recycle her clothes and shoes and it not be bad for the climate? Manufacturing them is harmful. Heck, manufacturing of TIME and mailing it out is bad, bad, bad.

“I can’t help but picture a cartoon figure of the Earth, a blue ball...crisscrossed by latitude and longitude lines...which bears a grumpy cartoon face with a long blue nose....

In Sunday school we were warned not to be influenced by the temptations of the corrupt world around us & not therefore to be led astray, away from the ways of God.

Which is good, but at the time I pictured “a corrupt world” as a crosshatched globe with sly eyes and a cynically leering mouth.

Nowadays, “worldly” means sophisticated, but to us in school it meant to be totally seduced by this corrupt world.

Who is funding her and who is her chaperone?

Who is funding TIME since it’s obviously not from it’s teeny number of subscribers?

Both questions need answers.

Amazing. An autistic, stunted, brainwashed urchin who probably smells like pickled herring is on the cover of Time. Which shows how desperate Time is for circulation.
